Georgia Southern has hired Clay Helton former coach at Southern Cal to be its new football coach. Maybe he can make them relevant again and add some stability to their program.

Just watched the “Stink” Spring Game on ESPN+. With a transfer Buffalo QB and WKU Offensive Coordinator the offense is completely transformed. Defense is running 4-2-5 for most of the game.

Yeah, it's completely different. Four-wide most plays with one back. Tempo when they get a positive play. Defense looks like the weakpoint, especially going to a 4-2-5 base. The transfer portal will help that change, but man the East Division is loaded plus they drew USA and Louisiana from the west. Their non-conference slate isn't bad, so they could scrape out 6 wins.

They'll be a different team in late November when App goes down there than September.

Hopefully, we have a different defensive game plan than we did against. WkU, evidently that one did not work out so well.

Hopefully we have more healthy DBs at that time than against WKU.
