Interesting, but if you didn't know better, the article would make you think Louisiana had dominated the Sun Belt the last three years, going undefeated and winning all 3 championship games.
From the article
" the coach is more than happy to win championships with the Ragin’ Cajuns in the Sun Belt"
And how many of those exactly does he have?
"Louisiana is proud to call itself the mini-Alabama"
More like the min-Alabama Birmingham
I don't dislike Napier and admire his not jumping on the first offer out of Lafayette, but Bear Bryant, he ain't.

Good for him. He's making $1M annually and waiting for the right opportunity. I can understand not going to a program who's expectations are beating the best in the nation who at the same time wants to dictate who you must keep on staff.
SC wanted Beamer and they got him.
Satt and Drink went to better situations when you factor in fanbase expectations.

The Alabama reference is more about Napier modeling the UL program after the Crimson Tide, it's not that their performance is similar.

Actually thought the article didn't tell the entire story. No article about Napier is complete if no mention of the Miracle on the Mountain. Journalist these days are cutting corners. Lol
