FTR, the first showdown with Southern Mississippi was in 1937 in a bowl game in Biloxi, Miss.  We lost 7-0.

I should not make lite of him being a convicted felon (bid-rigging) later in his life, but when asked while having a "going-in" party what he planned to do when he left prison he  replied, "peddle some influence."  He had chuztpah.

12,000 passing yards and 100 TDs...pretty good numbers!
