Wes MILLER and UNCG
Watched about all of their game today. I don't think a close call went their way yet they almost beat a good Gonzaga team. Better than anyone in the Sunbelt from what I saw. Someone will steal MILLER away soon. They are for real.

Re: Wes MILLER and UNCG
Just for fun, here's Wes Miller's record during his first four seasons at UNCG:
Season W-L
2011-12 11-11
2012-13 9-22
2013-14 14-18
2014-15 11-22
... And his record in his last three seasons:
2015-16 15-19
2016-17 25-10
2017-18 27-8
Totals 112-110
I'm guessing the folks at the G are glad they didn't run him off.

Re: Wes MILLER and UNCG
In looking at Wes Millers and Jim Fox's first 4 seasons, we have the following:
Wes Miller record : 45-73
Jim Fox record : 45-78
Very interesting indeed. Hoping that Fox can continue an upward trend for our Mountaineers.

Re: Wes MILLER and UNCG
In looking deeper, Wes went 60-93 in first 5 seasons and has gone 52-18 in the last 2 seasons to get to 112 - 111 overall. Yes, coaches can learn on the fly if given support and time. I hope with all of my heart that we see some of the same from Coach Fox.

Re: Wes MILLER and UNCG
Miller definitely had some on-the-job learning, as he detailed in a recent News & Record article (don't have the link handy, worth looking up if you're interested).
OTOH, he took over midseason as a 29-year-old interim coach. One would assume he'd have a steeper learning curve than, say, a 40-year-old longtime assistant who was hired after a normal search.
