Baffling decsion. Lambert is a great guy, but it's not working and FAU showed that you can turn it around in CUSA in one season.

That one win against UAB must have been convincing.

We play them 2018 & 2019 so I hope he stays at least through then.

Whenever they fire him, I just hope it's Judy Rose who names the replacement.

I want them and GS to be good when we play them. No fun beating up on a crap team.

We'll play the '9ers next fall with a new, inexperienced QB and an O-line w/o Gossett and Nunn. We lose lots of seniors on defense. I think we'll spank UNCC handily, but it'll be a new day w/o the likes of Lamb, Lewis, Gossett, Nunn, Sims, Boggs, Stringer and a host of others. Spring practice will be time to reload.

UNCC being good would not be a good thing for us, even if we did beat them head to head.

One word - recruiting.

I don't want UNCC or Ga So to ever field a winning team!!! Let's just pound their butts every time we play them.

We have to work hard enough to recruit in the Charlotte area now, so a stronger competitor would make it even more difficult. While we do well in GA and SC, and are not dependent on the CLT area for recruits, it is mighty nice to be able snag a gem such as Clifton Duck (Butler HS) every now and then.

I get that but playing an FCS and a UNCC that sucks in the same year just isn't worth the drive. We just have to recruit better than them.

I think we will still get the better player in head to head with them because we are a winning tradition. Now we may lose some of the others who are only concerned with playing time.

GA St. is going head to head with GS and winning a lot of recruiting battles.

But that's the point - we beat them in recruiting now because we're a great program and they're a bad one. If they start winning, then they probably start winning more of those recruiting battles too. Even if we beat them six times out of 10 instead of 8/10, that's still a hit to our recruiting.
As far as next year's game goes, everybody can have their own view of what they like to watch. Personally I find the prospect of going into their stadium and kicking the hell out of them while they're down to be very appealing.
Regardless, I don't think one single game is much of a reason to wish for them to be good or not. It's a big-picture issue.
Finally, considering how many starters we're losing from a 7-4 team, I don't think "too many easy wins" is one of our major concerns heading into 2018.

Plus, we have been successful over the years in the Charlotte area, that could definitely change if the 9'ers ever get their feet on the ground. Lots of mamas want their sons to stay close to home.

Yep, payback for the days when they said the only reason we had good crowds in Boone for hoops was that there was nothing else to do there. Stomp their green azzes.

Their average home attendance for 2017 has dropped to 11,905 and was an "announced" 8k for their senior day. Fans non renewing FSLs and planning to crash College Gameday at the ACC Championship with "Fire Judy Rose" signs. I say it's great to be a Mountaineer!!!

East hall, I was referring to still out recruiting them even if they have a better record.
