I was planning on putting up a thread in the Lodge about today being the day that all programs send out their Official Scholarship Offer letters and was going to show the posts from some of our commits who shared theirs. But this was just too good to pass up on putting up.

Like everyone ECU sent out their letters today. As you can see from the post below they worked pretty hard on this one. I still follow their QB commit Ahlers and got it off his page but I did save a copy of the image itself just because it was too good to pass up. They just made one mistake. Click on the pic to see if you can spot it.

I'll make it a little easier on everyone. Just look at/near the top. Forget the body of the letter itself.

Some coed is going to be offended that ECU is offering scholarhips.

Yep....I mean of all the words to mess up given what the letter is about....and they are the ECU Pirates after all. You would think that SHIP is one they wouldn't have much trouble with.

That's a hip-looking letter.

Well, in their defense, they had plenty of "AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRS" but were definitely missing an "S".

Technically they made two mistakes - see "uundaunted" a bit lower in the letter.

But yeah, "Scholarship" is not really the word you want to misspell, especially on the top line.

I will give them credit on a pretty good idea though. I don't know if any of you have seen what the physical letter looks like but it's pretty cool. Even got mentions from CBS and ESPN earlier in the day because of it. Typical ECU to shoot themselves in the foot.

Those 10% budget cuts shining through.

The font they used is almost unreadable. It's not exactly cursive. The "e" in congratulate is hardly visible in addition to the obvious mistakes..

There was a story on the local news in the Fayetteville area last night. Sports guy got a good chuckle over it. Shared the same sentiment- need to proofread this stuff

Don't they have spell check in Greenville?

Don't they have English Professors that could proof it or a GA?

I missed "scholarhip" and thought the mistake must've been that he needs to maintain a record of excellence to go to ecu

Now let's not get to uppity. I'm sure the guys signing the letter made no notice of the error. Bless their hearts.

Typos aside I think a treasure map offer letter is incredibly corny and lame.
