This year is kind of strange because there is a huge lack of big name coordinators who are being considered for head coaching jobs. I mean outside of Luke Fickell and Lincoln Riley what big time coordinators are seeing there names thrown around? Last year there was Scott Frost, Kirby Smart, Chris Ash, D.J. Durkin, Mike Norvell, and Will Muschamp. The year before there was Pat Narduzzi, Tom Herman, Mike Bobo, and Chad Morris. The year before that Bob Diaco, Derek Mason, and Blake Anderson.

Kiffin seems to get mentioned for a lot of jobs (including USF), but you're right, not as many in that category. I'm sure Schiano won't be at OSU too long either.

Although I guess Muschamp fits in that category, I don't consider guys like Kiffin, Schiano, and Tedford as "big name coordinators" as much as "former head coaches". Though I guess it's splitting hairs at the end of the day.

Taggart was the right fit for Oregon. Familiar with the West Coast recruiting. Served under Jim Harbaugh at Stanford. He recruited Andrew Luck to Stanford. Plus now he has his Florida connections to get more skill guys. It was a bit surprising, because he is from the Tampa Bay area. Went to the same high school as my wife. He is in the process of building a house here as well. Good hire for the Ducks.
