Re: Other scores - 10/5-10/7
Our only two losses were 1 score losses against 2 teams having a great season. But we’re terrible because we won a game against a bad team by 1 score. So if we’re terrible, Wyoming and UNC should hang up their season since they barely beat us.

One reason I don't subscribe to transitive property beyond direct proof is that teams can also improve and crazy things can happen like you said. I don't expect to be the same team in November that we were 2 weeks ago but I want to see how we look. I think the next 3 games will help tell us if we have a shot to be good or if we are likely in for another 6-6 or worse finish. Regardless if people are using scores or not I don't think it is unfair to say we have not been very impressive so far. Direct proof of that is we had Wyoming beat but somehow let that slip away and needed a last second kick and a lot of luck to beat a bad ULM team. We have to execute better, manage games better, and do a better job of protecting the ball. I am not writing us off yet but we do need to make significant strides in the next 3 weeks in games that I feel we absolutely should win.Bigdaddyg1 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 07, 2023 7:53 pmMy god the over use of the football transitive property in order to prove that we are not very good is getting ridiculous. Football is a crazy game. Sometimes you you win, sometimes you lose and sometimes your opponent plays well and sometimes games are tight. It happens.

But, ULM is good. They are better than 2-3 Army and better than FCS 2-3 Lamar

No, we didn't get the W. But, we managed the game well against Wyoming. Even if we miss the FG, the long, grinding drive (19 plays) and the clock management were really good and most likely would have notched the win. Yes, the execution on that play didn't happen, but for 58 minutes our coaches put us in a position to likely win and that game was managed well. Our defense played a superb game. (Wyoming has more yards and three times as many first downs in one half against #24 Fresno State) They found a way to win. It is what it is, but to say we haven't been impressive is off base.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 07, 2023 8:10 pmOne reason I don't subscribe to transitive property beyond direct proof is that teams can also improve and crazy things can happen like you said. We impressed the hell out of the Wyoming fan base. Leaving the stadium, their fans in unison acknowledged that they lucked into one and that we played really well.
We've also given a Top 15 North Carolina their only real competition.

Impressive is putting together complete games and we have only flashed so far. You can see the talent is there for what we did against UNC and Wyoming, as you said, but we have also had trouble with turnovers and major mental errors at times as well. Look at the ULM game. South Alabama is beating them 55-7 and we need some lucky and a career-long for Hughes to win that game. We can get there though.WASU 93 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 07, 2023 8:53 pmNo, we didn't get the W. What has frustrated me so far is the fact we were better than Wyoming but lose and now see them handling Fresno State so well. You see UNC beat Syracuse 40-7? There is no question we have talent. Hopefully we start to put it all together and put a double digit win on the board against Coastal. I am thinking I will pick us by 10-14.

Re: Other scores - 10/5-10/7
We just need to take care of the ball better; we are giving teams life/momentum with all the effin turnovers. Cut those in half and we are 5-0 and prob beat ULM by 20.
Ball security should be priority A1 right now.

Re: Other scores - 10/5-10/7
Exactly,
per last week's post game notes:
Under Clark:
17-1 if we win the turnover battle
7-3 if it is even
and 5-10, if we lose it.

In my perfect world nobody gets ranked until after 6 games. A lot of the haves and have nots are rising and falling after this week.

I’m fine with the rest of your points, and I agree with many in varying degrees, BUT the only reason we wasted three time outs on that drive was because we didn’t have four. We couldn’t call in a play on that drive to save our lives.WASU 93 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 07, 2023 8:53 pmNo, we didn't get the W. But, we managed the game well against Wyoming.
