Re: The Carolina Way (Cont'd)
And I think we would be negligent to not mention that Great Tarheel Defense who just gave up 645 rushing yards to Baylor who was playing without their 2 top QBs, their top RB and their top WR - THE MOST RUSHING YARDS GIVEN UP IN BOWL HISTORY !!!

Not according to the N&O in Raleigh. To read the articles in the paper this morning Baylor running was a complete shock and surprise.HeffnerIV wrote:That doesn't even tell the story. They gave up 645 yards rushing and they KNEW Baylor was going to run.

Oh, I know. Just another example of the Tarheel spin machine in action again.Black Saturday wrote:AppDawg wrote:Not according to the N&O in Raleigh. Congrats to UNC-Cheats on finishing second in the Russell Athletic Bowl as Baylor finished next to last.

Re: The Carolina Way (Cont'd)
Was just looking at some of the ACC football schedules for next year (this year actually) - The Holes are really loading up with toughies - Illinois - and even after their hammering this past season for playing 2 FCS teams - THEY ARE DOING IT AGAIN - JMU and The Citadel

You know I just can't stand that school you have mentioned but now I am just curious. I wonder why they keep doing this?WVAPPeer wrote:Was just looking at some of the ACC football schedules for next year (this year actually) - The Holes are really loading up with toughies - Illinois - and even after their hammering this past season for playing 2 FCS teams - THEY ARE DOING IT AGAIN - JMU and The Citadel

UNC coach Larry Fedora: NCAA cloud has dissipated and people are tired of it
Highlights
Questions of NCAA case hounded UNC on recruiting trail before signing day last year, Larry Fedora said
In this recruiting cycle, the unresolved case had less of an effect than it did in years past, Fedora said
Fedora: “People are tired of hearing about it ... there’s been a lot of crying wolf”

I didn't realize the cloud had dissipated or maybe they have realized like the rest of us that nothing will happen to a University who is guilty of the biggest academic fraud in history...

Re: RE: Re: The Carolina Way (Cont'd)
I can tell you for sure he is guaranteeing recruits that the football team will suffer no consequences from the investigation. He flipped a 4* QB (Suratt out of EL) from Duke by telling him that. Suratt was quoted in local paper saying Fedora assured him UNC football was in the clear.WVAPPeer wrote:UNC coach Larry Fedora: NCAA cloud has dissipated and people are tired of it

Re: The Carolina Way (Cont'd)
That was the purpose of UNC's stall tactic: the world will forget if we drag it out as long as possible. No public outrage, no NCAA sanction. We've seen this time and time again. "Self-reporting" bought them an additional basketball season as well.
Of course I doubt State money was directly used to hire one of the biggest PR firms in the world, but the impact was the same. Just like a drug dealer who spends his cash on liquor and his food stamps on food.
Carolina wins. Academic integrity loses. 16 servient public universities in North Carolina lose.

Truth. And now they add to it the old "are we STILL talking about this? Can't we just move on, people?" tactic.Gonzo wrote:That was the purpose of UNC's stall tactic: the world will forget if we drag it out as long as possible. No public outrage, no NCAA sanction. Or, to put it in the words of Smokey:

Yeah, I don't blame him for trying to throw water on it but to throw in the "people are tired of it?" He's partially right- HIS people are tired of talking about it.

Kevin Guskiewicz you will recall was a part of the "League of Denial" documentary and has performed years of research into TBI in football players. His research was crucial to Dr. Omalu's study into CTE.
We don't slide at Appalachian State. It's a sign of weakness.

We need a separate folder for all the Carolina obsessed fans on the board. Make it like the political folder so that it's hidden so that the rest of us don't always have to skip through your obsessions. I'm not sure which has been a bigger obsession on this board - Carolina, cups with ice, or BBQ?

Please do the same with the Panther threads.
