nice pickup for you guys, good player, good guy, with the talent we had at his position it was going to be tough for him to get a lot of playing time, I believe he is from Alabama, so it works out well for him, he will get more playing time, and he will be closer to home.

Blackmon was from Covington, Ga. Could never stay healthy up here. Dont think he fits into our current defensive scheme, as he was recruited Pre-Woody

Speaking of, the cants are going to Hawaii in 2017. That new AD they have is a money game prostitute.WataugaMan wrote:Looks like he will be getting a couple more opportunities to knock off west carolina.

WCU will be lucky to break even on the Hawaii game net of travel costs. It is a nice perk for their administration and a recruiting tool for the players though.luvyosef wrote: Speaking of, the cants are going to Hawaii in 2017. That new AD they have is a money game prostitute.

Unless something has changed, Hawaii does not pay guarantees. They pay travel costs only. Their athletic department is hemorrhaging money right now, to the point that they have discussed dropping football. I doubt that the cant's make a penny off that trip.Cincy App wrote:WCU will be lucky to break even on the Hawaii game net of travel costs. Re: Samford gets ASU transfer
I remember when we went to Hawaii and played, because of cost of travel, lack of fan support at the game, and it basically screwed up preparations for the following game, Cobb said he would never make that mistake again and approve such a long journey for a game. WCU is going to find out that it was a mistake to play this game.

Re: Samford gets ASU transfer
It may give WCU a 12th game that year as Hawaii has a few special rules to get teams to come play them in Hawaii. That might end up being another home game in Cullowhee that helps with cost in an indirect way.

We played at Hawaii in 2003. That mistake happened on Roachel Laney's watch.
