I heard he was going to go to the pre draft stuff. Someone might give him a practice squad chance.
He will get a chance. Probably a PFA and has a legit shot at practice squad with how many they can keep now.

I'm old enough to remember when an athlete "chasing the bag" meant he was trying to go pro instead of trying NOT to go pro at all costs.

Joey is an NFL combine invite. I don’t think he will be throwing due to a recent surgery to remove a benighted tumor from his shoulder.

Yeah they brought him in to check out the throwing arm. He was one of the last couple QBs to make the initial invite list but removed due to the court case when they published it on NFL.com. They added him back when the case got settled. Usually there are 325-330 who go so there were several others who declined their invite and returned to school due to getting a waiver and taking a NIL deal.

Here is his combine profile.

His grade of 5.95 is interesting being that it is like a 6th-7th round grade. He is in the 200-220 overall grade at this point. I think Chad Reuter does those grades but I am not 100% sure.

Someone will take a flyer on Dimes, even if it’s a practice squad spot to start.

I agree. I think he showed enough against sec defenses that he will get some practice squad looks. He could turn out to be a serviceable back up. I think he will have to choose that route or the Canadian route if he wants a pro career.

His medical stuff is something to consider. He should be okay but teams are looking for any reason not to draft someone unless they have elite traits. I think he gets a contract for sure. It is 50/50 on the draft. The one thing he has going for him is that this is a bad class with so many QBs staying in schools so there will be some QBs taken in rounds 5-7 due to that. I agree with you that I think someone takes him on a practice squad at least. It will be interesting to see who brings him in for a private workout or visit.
