Is JMU better than Wake Forest? Utah ? BYU? Navy ? Illinois? There’s a long list of better teams. They had a good team but are they one of the twelve best ? No. Top forty ? Maybe. Maybe not.

The best teams win their conference. They should be in the playoffs automatically.

The crazy thing is last year Ohio State lost the Big Ten but won the national title and 3 of the final 4 this year did not win their leagues.
With the schedule so spread out that the top 4 seeds get a bye we are seeing many of them rusty and losing early on. If Indiana does not win the title this year then we are going to have the first 2 years of this CFP being won by teams who could not even win their league. If Ole Miss somehow wins they were the 4th SEC team in.

Exactly. The 5th best team in the Big Ten would beat most, if not all, G6 champions.
