Before reading this last comment I texted a buddy who is a big UNC fan. We had discussed Mack a few times over the last couple of years and agreed he needed to move on. Just told him this was reminiscent of our situation with JM. Old coach who needed to move on but just wants “one more year”.
We wouldn't have made it to FBS as soon if Moore had not done what he did.

Big thing possibly saving Doeren is the buyout.
I would expect Satterfield to interview. Cincy isn't a great fit.
I doubt Satt can play the "get out of town before they chase you out" card so soon after doing so at Louisville. At least, not to another P4 job.

Funny enough this is the first P4 head coach opening this season.
Mack tried to pull a Jerry Moore in that he had a handshake deal to leave after the season but after an emotional win or two felt like he could bully his way into another season. Sounds like Cunningham had enough.
Big difference between having three years left on your contract and having zero years left.

Why do I feel like Chadwell would be the perfect fit at UnCheat?
I am thinking State on this one.
Although different sport....Sloan, Valvano and Gottfried....
Although sorry for his health issues.... before that and while coach...bball program was a scandal behind the scenes...
They slept in bed together going back to the 50’s with their mafia connections and the Dixie Classic.

If state loses to the Heels, DD may be next on the chopping block
as a state fan, I hope so
Careful acknowledging your dual fandom on here. Oh wait, the virtue signalers only care about shaming Carolina fans. Carry on.
been going to state games since I was in my momma's belly. So yeah, definitely dual fandom.

Elaborate on this thought process.

Not surprised, when expectations aren’t met, coaches get fired, even well liked coaches.
Well, usually that’s what happens.

If Moore had been fired, we might not have won the three NC's.

OK, you were referring to pre 2005 years. I thought you meant post NC years.

I imagine there is 0 shot he is a successful college coach.
Wow Bill Belicheck and UNC Cheat talk about a match made in heaven.
His ability to cheat on the football field and UNC's ability to cheat in the classroom might truly take UNC football places.
Wish we would have taken at least 1 more game against them in this last series because I wouldn't want to face UNC football with belichecks lack of scruples and knowing that their athletes don't have to go to class or do any schoolwork.

Yeah, that’s a disaster waiting to happen.

OK, I'm using this take with my Tarhole friends. That's good.

Oh no not Belicheck (just because I disliked the Patriots that whole time) but if my daughter goes there next year I may be required to go to a game or two.

There would be a small chance that Belichick would strangle an obnoxious Tar Heel booster at Pinehurst No. 2 after said booster made several "suggestions" on who to start.
