30-17 final and it wasn't that close - QB Grainger looked very poised and the RB Collins is really good - reminds me of KRich - Coastal did not look good at all - McCall looked gun-shy to me - didn't want to run the ball - threw the underneath passes well but anything down the field was off target - The best team won

Marcus Carroll is a shifty, hard running back with an extra burst. Looked more to me like a Nate Noel in a blue uni. Teams will have their hands full with that guy this year. Ga. State looks much improved. Coach Elliott still looks like his head could explode at any time.

Georgia State looked pretty good but think part of that is due to Coastal being really bad. Team looked unmotivated and undisciplined. Chodeswell may have left the cupboard bare, too. Pinckney’s wide open drop near the end is indicative of how the rest of their season will go. It gives me the warm fuzzies.

I guess when Chadwell left for Liberty , the Coastal DC went to GA ST. I am sure that helped in the game plan last night.

I do wish that Coastal was removed from our list of rivals on the App State football wikipedia page.

For young alumni they are a rival though it may fall apart if a few other schools step up and that could become JMU quickly.

I'd be amenable to JMU replacing Coastal on the list. A rival for App needs to go beyond a few years of good games (2020-2022). The big question for CCU is how they will perform moving forward with Chadwell gone and Grayson McCall about to hit the road. I did a review of CCU's football program and found eight conference titles in all. Seven of those from their time in the Big South and one from the SunBelt (the one Sun Belt title was shared with Louisiana). They have been to three bowl games and have one bowl victory. I just think it is a bad look to say CCU is a rival to App when there is such a large discrepancy of tradition between the two programs.
