We don’t need him, but humor me for a second. Shai comes to Boone.

4th quarter, tie ballgame. Shai Werts catches the game winning TD for the Apps, as we knock off the Stink in front of 30,000 at The Rock... :lol: :lol:

It’s about the only thing this rivalry is missing.

Never thought I’d say this about App, but we have too many good receivers to worry about adding Werts. God does it feel good though to say that.

Obviously we have powerful running backs as usual, but I mean Pinckney, Hennigan, Sutton, Brown, Horn, Wells, it is disgusting the amount of talent we have. Sorry if I missed any other names, but even that list alone is ridiculous

He chose GS over us because they said he could play QB. I believe we were recruiting him to play the position he now wants to work on in order to improve his NFL chances.

So, this might be a stupid question, but if a player enters the transfer portal but nobody picks them up (at least any school they'd be interested in)...then do they usually just stay where they are? Which would seem a bit awkward...if there's even a spot left for them. Or is their college career just over at that point?

My understanding is that the answer depends on which program you're talking about. Some programs will allow players to explore the portal and then take them back. I imagine even for those programs, it would depend on how the decision was made (involving coaches or not). It's my feel that most of the time, once a player enters the portal, they are no longer with the team so it represents a commitment to leave.
