Got to believe this isn’t what they had in mind when this rule was adopted. Numerous transfer announcements this week.

It's a good thing that this transfer/redshirt mess wasn't around for Rudy....

Whatever happened to team loyalty? What about a little determination and earning your job back? Seriously, how can you be a team leader (or considered a leader) and quit on your team because you weren't good enough to keep the starting job?

Adversity builds character.

I am not a fan of transferring because you aren't the starter as it does speak to one's character, however, in the case of Kelly Bryant and Jalen Hurts, I kind of see their points. They were winning with them under center and neither had done anything to lose the job. Coaches have the right to start who they want but these guys weren't replaced by guys who gave their teams a better chance to win now. I think that in the long run, this looks bad for both coach and player.

I think in Clemsons case if they were still a top 10 only program Kelly is their guy. Clemson is now a championship or bust program. Lawrence gives them the best chance to win the big games because of his passing ability down the field.

Unfortunately in the case of Hurts and Bryant, neither improved enough as a passer and it ultimately led to them losing their job.

Our QB situation has been discussed on other threads. Obviously we are not on the same planet as Alabama and Clemson right now but it could get interesting to see what our guys decide to do. Local radio guys pointed out yesterday that about 5 current top 20 teams are being led by transfer QB’s. I’ve always wondered why a 5 star QB would go to an Alabama or Clemson knowing they might sit two or three years to get a shot to start one or two seasons. Well that stuff is changing rapidly with transfers.

Adversity builds character but it doesn't get you an NFL contract.

I'm fine with unpaid players having options to better themselves either on the field or to get a grad degree through a redshift year.

Kelly Bryant will not get an NFL contract at QB. He can't throw well enough. That's why he got beat out.

Just wait until the P5 raids the G5 promising playing time. This WILL get out of hand
