Pro Day on March 25th

Unread post by AppStFan1 » Fri Mar 20, 2026 11:20 pm

Our seniors will test for the NFL on March 25th. Dubinion and Cummings are viewed as our top 2 but Cummings is hurt so not sure he will do any testing other than the weigh-in.

Thanks for posting these! Very low turnout of scouts. I will get full results for our guys and post within a few days.

The lack of scouts is telling.

Those days are gone when we had tons of scouts….. it went away with the advent of Rev-share and nil…….when a player is quasi good…they’re gone… so they’ll be here for a season or two (if we’re lucky) the at P4 and that’s where the scouts will be. Pretty much we’ve seen the end of someone breaking any career numbers…. they won’t be here long enough. Unfortunately, it is what it is.

The only chance it happens is if we have someone who blossoms really late in career like Huntley did in basketball or if we get a transfer who was overlooked by the P4s and shocks everyone in his one year at App. I don't expect us to have a draft pick often anymore.

Here are the official results from the App State Pro Day on March 25th.

A couple things to know before reading. Cummings did not do a full workout due to his injury and that, along with the fact that this class just does not have any potential draft picks, caused the scout turnout to be low.

Nobody had a great workout to really help themselves and 3 had really bad workouts that hurt their chances to even get a tryout.

DE Kevin Abrams-Verwayne- 6015, 238 pounds, ran a 4.86 and 4.94 40, 2.75 20-yard, 1.67 10-yard, 30.5 vertical, 9’6 broad jump, 4.70 shuttle, and 7.67 3-cone. He also benched 23 reps. 9 ½ hand, 32 3/8 arm, 79 1/8 wingspan.

TE Izayah Cummings- 6030, 243 pounds. Did 23 bench reps. 9 ¾ hand, 33 3/8 arm, and 79 3/8 wingspan. Did not workout at pro day due to left ruptured patellar tendon injury. Cummings was our best prospect prior to injury. It will be interesting to see if he is able to workout for teams before football season begins.

RB Rashod Dubinion- 5095, 204 pounds, ran a 4.82 and 4.85 40, 2.75 20, 1.66 10-yard, 26 vertical, 8’7 broad, 4.58 shuttle, and 7.41 3-cone. Did not bench due to a wrist injury. 9 ¼ hand, 30 ½ arm, and 72 ¼ wingspan. Did not bench due to fractured right wrist. I knew he was not a really good tester but expected a little better than this.

S Jordan Favors- 5102, 190 pounds, ran a 4.57 and 4.65 40, 2.68 20, 1.57 10, 35.5 vertical, 10’5 broad, 4.43 shuttle, 7.18 3-cone, and did 23 bench reps. He had a 9 1/8 hand, 30 arm, and 70 1/8 wingspan. I would think he gets a tryout.

OG Shamarr Jackson- 6011, 293 pounds, ran a 5.64 and 5.68 40, 3.07 20, 1.88 10, 22.5 vertical, 8’2 broad, 5.12 shuttle, 8.64 cone, and 16 bench reps. 10 ¼ hand, 33 5/8 arm, and 78 3/8 wingspan. This was a really bad workout and it would take an agent with huge favors built up to get him a shot in a camp.

CB Ethan Johnson- 5106, 190 pounds, ran a 4.75 and 4.78 40, 2.75 20, 1.63 10, 29 vertical, 9’8 broad, 4.39 shuttle, 7.35 3-cone, and did 12 bench reps. 8 ¾ hand, 31 ¼ arm, and 73 3/8 wingspan. He might have been better off not to test. People knew he was not a great athlete but this was really bad.

TE David Larkins- 6034, 247 pounds, ran a 4.93 and 4.95 40, 2.75 20, 1.67 10, 30.5 vertical, 9’8 broad jump, 4.38 shuttle, 7.39 3-cone, and 17 bench reps. 9 7/8 hand, 33 7/8 arm, and 81 wingspan. No surprises here.

K Cash McVay- 5112, 173 pounds, 26.5 vertical jump, and did position drills. Has a 8 hand, 31 ¼ arm, and 72 ½ wingspan.

LB Ronnie Porter- 6000, 240 pounds, 4.88 and 4.97 40, 2.81 20, 1.67 10, 30 vertical, 9’10 broad jump, 4.59 shuttle, 7.52 3-cone, and did 24 bench reps. 9 hand, 32 ¼ arm, and 77 5/8 wingspan. He worked out at both App State and South Carolina and I put his best numbers between the two pro days.

OT Jayden Ramsey- He retired and chose not to work out. Loggains has pushed his name but there really was not much interest in him at all by the NFL. Jayden is smart for retiring and I wish him well.

WR Dalton Stroman- 6026, 202 pounds, 4.72 and 4.74 40, 2.64 20, 1.60 10, 32 vertical, 10’6 broad jump, 4.47 shuttle, 7.35 3-cone, and did 15 bench reps. 9 ¾ hand, 33 3/8 arm, and 78 ¾ wingspan. Stroman might get a tryout but his 40 does hurt. I expected him to run mid 4.6s.

LB Jaelin Willis- He worked out but I am not going to put his numbers out there because they were really bad. He was 5096, 212 pounds, and ran a 5.34 40. That time alone should tell you how the rest went.

If you look at the roster for this year I would not be surprised if the numbers are similar next spring as well. I look at our senior class as of now and nobody pops as a definite prospect. A couple possible tryouts but I feel like someone is going to have to breakout like Cummings did and stay healthy for us to have a legit one in 2027.

I just finally got around to reading the results. Favors with 23 bench reps at 190 BW is insane. Not that it really matters at the safety position too much, but that's some eye catching strength from a safety. Beats the best combine result from a safety by 5 reps and that guy was 10 pounds heavier than Favors.

Yeah he had the best workout but just wish he ran a little better. I was expecting 4.60 but feel like he could have really helped himself if he had run 4.4s instead of sub 4.6.

Does anyone know if any of our players have an agent outside of Stroman? He is the only one who had one listed on his form from what someone who was at the pro day told me.

I know we have some folks who have wanted to follow how Anderson Castle did at Duke. He was 5114, 221 pounds, ran a 4.65 and 4.68 40, 2.69-2.70 20-yard, 1.51-1.52 10-yard, 33.5 VJ, 10'3 broad, 4.19 short shuttle, 7.03 3-cone, and he chose not to bench due to chest tightness. He had a 8 3/4 hand, 31 1/2 arm, and 74 wingspan.

About half of NFL teams have announced their signings and several have tryouts posted online but none from App. I did not expect anyone to sign but thought with Loggains contacts that we would have 1-2 tryouts, despite the awful pro day.

If this holds up would it be the first year we did not have anyone get a shot in the NFL? I can't remember a year where we did not have at least 1-2 names worthy of signing.
