Anyone else depressed that all these are players who left us and not our current players?

Imagine how many more guys would have been signed if it weren’t for the crappy talent evaluation of the former staff.

Not really depressed. If this were 10 years ago id be depressed, but not in the portal era. I also wonder if they would have gotten the same looks if they had stayed at App, especially a guy like Castle.

I am not bummed thinking these guys are so talented but more so thinking how sad is it that we don't have any current players being posted. It should have been way more than 4 who panned out if we did a good job. Remember, these were not all in the same class. We had a ton of players transfer down. We missed so many in the portal and in HS recruiting that I bet for every 1 player who gets a shot we missed on about 4.

Indeed. Castle did not even start for us. He is only getting a shot because he has decent size and tested okay. P4 starters and role players pretty much all get a shot unless they test poorly and some of those who test bad will still get a chance.

I was thinking the same thing on Castle.

Double edge sword here. Imagine winning more games with that talent.

Or in this thread we could just say congrats to these players.

It’s going to be very rare that we have a draft pick nowadays. Or even signings.
If you have draft potential, you’re going to a P4. FCS/G6 is the A/AA ball minor leagues.

I'm sorry. I saw we had new posts and thought "Oh it turned out it was not as bad for our current guys as I expected and a couple of them have signed or got a tryout already but then let down seeing it was a couple guys who left us". For some reason he feels he has to disagree with everything I say. It made me laugh because he is sour on Loggains but my prior comment had him trying to defend our personnel people. lol

Congrats to those guys. I just want to see some of our own players get a shot. Like I said about the pro day results, it was really bad so seeing very little chances for our guys is to be expected. Cummings was our best guy and he is hurt.

I’m not sour on Loggains. I just see him as a bad hire. I’m not rooting against him. The portal era has changed the way we need to look at what qualifies as a successful season. We went 5-7 in 2024. Doubled down, or substantially increased the investment in 2025 and went 5-8. Not money well spent in my opinion.

But yes. Congratulations to the former App players that get a shot at the next level.

Yea I would think Cummings will get a chance when he’s more healthy. He reminds me a lot of Isaiah Likely from Coastal a few years ago.

Gotta wonder how many guys who were drafted transferred from G to P. Of those how many still get drafted had they stayed at the G?

Injury was pretty bad but I have heard he is going to make an attempt. He would have been a very early UDFA if he had not gotten hurt. He was our best prospect by far. In other news, an actual player who finished playing for us is 50/50 to be done. Hearing that the injury to Cooper Hodges in Jacksonville was pretty bad and he was still not ready to be cleared. Their GM thought he should be and let him go. Praying for Cooper because he was on his way to be a starter in Jacksonville before he got hurt.

I think the money was wasted in areas as well but it is too early to know for sure either way. He could win 10 games this year and make your prediction look bad or he could go 3-9 and it appear you are right. I am skeptical but believe he needs a fair amount of time. Clark had many people, including yourself, thinking it was still not time to let him go after 5 years so I feel like it is unfair to say on Loggains until at least 3 years. He was not given nearly as good of a program as Clark inherited.
