Yes, off field concerns. Some football related (track mentality) and some not. Love the kid, but he made a couple dumb mistakes as a senior trying to get in to the NFL.

Indeed. Nobody at App will go public with it but he has a lot of stuff that went wrong. He went from a mid round talent grade, Senior Bowl invite, and NFL Combine invite to a borderline draft pick.

100%. Bad advice has hurt several for sure. Cam thought he was a 4th-5th round pick when he signed with an agent and even back in January. I had been hearing a rude awakening is coming for him since the fall. Nobody sat him down and told him. Everyone has enabled him and now he is still undrafted at pick 239 when he thought he would be long gone by now. I wonder if he fires his agent this week or if the agent finally told him what to expect late? I hope he gets that chip back on his shoulder. If he does I still think he could end up being a solid pro but has attitude, work ethic, and toughness will determine that.

I talked to him fairly recently. He seems to have that fire again. I think a team will be happy getting him. I am hoping this slide really ignites that fire even more. He belongs in the NFL.

Glad to hear that. I thought he needed a rude awakening and hoped he would get it. What I heard a few months ago disappointed me. I believed he is the type of player that if he gets that chip back that he would become a steal for someone in 7th or as a PFA.

If you look at their roster I would think they have 1 opening on the 53 man roster for a RB that he will have to compete with a few others for. They did not draft a RB so he should have a real chance.

It always helps in general when undrafted so I feel like he does unless he can impact in the receiving game as well. He does have a legit shot with their current RB depth chart though.

While it would help, I don't think you bring Cam in if that's what you're looking for. He's just not going to bring that to the table, outside of maybe a tryout returning kickoffs (which is minimally valuable in the NFL anyway).

Panthers have some room for a RB3. I think if he stays healthy, he's got a shot.

I only ask because a depth chart position is generally given to guys that can play ST’s in some sort of capacity to enhance their value to procuring a roster spot. Keep in mind that Cam isn’t only competing against those brought into Panther’s camp for that 3rd spot, but also guys around the league that might have value as waiver wire pickups. Cam will need to show some skills that weren’t on display during his time at App to improve his chances of sticking around.
