Some surprising names in the ballet. Sean McDermott, Victor Olidipo, and Dennis Smith Jr. I voted for Huntley, PJ Hall, Jamal Mashburn, Jr., KJ Simpson, and Malik Williams (lol). Not gonna vote for Mantis.

His dad was my all time favorite Hornet. I really liked Kimba and Gerald Wallace (Bobcat, but same franchise), too. Was not into the Hornets until I moved to Charlotte in 2000 and started going to some games.

The fact that Mantis is earning a living playing professional basketball astounds me.

I was raised on KY basketball and my kids went to school there.

Man, I knew they didn’t play a lot of defense in the D-League but this just confirms it.

What are the odds he is with the Suns when they come to Charlotte?

If so, we have to get DK on the floor like Roy does for his guys.

CJ got his first minutes tonight for the Suns. First bucket was a dunk.

This is great - suns are in playoff contention so its not like he is getting minutes on a bummer of a team. He is working hard and getting noticed.

There is another video on the team Twitter page of a teammate running down the game ball and giving it to CJ in the tunnel.

So happy to see CJ succeeding! Dude’s a testimony to the power of persistence, of never giving up on his dream.

He should literally be Kern's recruiting pitch and re-recruiting pitch to keep them at App after each season. Plenty of guys left and made more money while CJ stayed, worked, improved, got drafted and is now on an active NBA roster.
