Two Transfers From USoC

Spurrier announced that two players will be transferring to ASU....Flatt and Scruggs...no, Baker and Scruggs.

Baker is a running back who accumulated an astounding 12 yards for the Gamecocks last year, while Scruggs is a wide reciever.

No details on whether either can play the banjo.

Re: Margaret Thatcher Passes

Thatcher, like Reagan, arrived on their respective national leadership scenes at a time when both countries desperately needed positive, tough love leadership. Never agreed with all policies of either, and to some degree they were both less conservative in their political actions than in their words...

Re: Parting shot from the SoCon

Is this the stuff we're going to have to deal with every time App loses a game in the SoCon, or when we move to the Sun Belt? We probably deserve it. We have been awfully critical of the SOCON so why should they not rub our noses in it. This is the very reason I have wondered why we could not have ...

Re: Davidson sucks game thread

18-9 App, team is shooting lights out, good defense, Capels is going nuts on the side lines coaching, (where has that been the last 2 years) Caple lacked the experience to be a good head coach from day 1. That doesn't mean he'll never be good, it's just that learning on the job can be painful. In h...

Thank you for posting the obit. What memories. That was my favorite place to eat in Boone...both the food and Mr. Sollecito were special.

Re: The Case to keep Capel one more year

Having lived through the Press Maravich year, I am willing to give Capel another year to become a good coach. IIRC, ASU won 3 games when Maravich was coach. He did, however, have the team with the hardest to spell names....Nananovich, Vucosovich, Milosovich...see the trend here? A bunch of sons of ...

Re: APP Should remain FCS

I'm pro-FBS and thought the vitriol was uncalled for. Point out the fallacies but name calling is unnecessary. It's punk. There are some really bitter people on here. Wonder why most of the regulars on the MMB aren't around? This is why. I know I was a regular poster on MMB, but sometimes find it h...

Re: Georgia Southern AD says:

He takes a shot at the SBC due to some new programs. Conveniently forgets the brand new programs recently admitted into CUSA, our most likely other new home. Is forming a new conference really a viable option, with no guaranteed TV contract?

Re: Drop men's basketball, add hockey

That Davidson game was embarrassingly pathetic. I'm convinced that making basketball work at App is fruitless these days. We have a school of 17,000 students and can't draw 2,000 to a conference game?!? The Sports Information Office and athletic department pays about the same amount of attention to...

Re: NY Gov Gun Laws...

How did my freakin GUN thread get hijacked!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think someone moved from the 2nd Amendment and made a comment on the 1st Amendment. Then I mentioned I had joined the ACLU recently. Then the thread went all to pot, which I was very much a part of I must admit. So back to all the gun ...

Re: NY Gov Gun Laws...

JCline, you might be surprised that we share the military background, including my father (career army, served in WWII, Korea, and Viet Nam) and my own service in the navy (no wars to speak of;)). I like to think that those who serve do so to protect the rights of everyone, regardless of how I feel ...

Re: NY Gov Gun Laws...

Sounds like you would agree with the right of those crazies who protest at deceased veterans' funerals to do their abomnable charades. Just because I don't like what they do and say doesn't mean they don't have the right to protest as long as they obey the law. I think they've ruined themselves as ...

Freedom of speech allows for the public to decide what they believe rather than authorities. In the open marketplace some ideas will win, many will lose. Allowing a forum for even the most abominable of speech such as the Illinois nazis is important, as if we start restricting one group the door is...
