Re: 2023-24 Roster Breakdown & Wishlist
Updated to reflect the Teasett announcement. Wonder why it took so long to announce, I mean many of us could have predicted this since December

Re: 2023-24 Roster Breakdown & Wishlist
If a basketball roster lists him at 6'8, he's probably actually 6'6 lol I love this signing though, textbook Sun Belt kind of big man you want on your roster. Defends hard, blocks shots, and crashes the glass at a terrific rate. Desperately needed the post depth so this is a great addition imo. Prob...

Re: 2023-24 Roster Breakdown & Wishlist
Based on today's social media posts I'd say it's safe to say Teasett is returning. Feel like he would have been in portal by now if he had a desire to leave or if the staff wanted him off of the roster. Will update that and other returning players as offically returning I'm glad Teasett is coming ba...

Re: 2023-24 Roster Breakdown & Wishlist
:) "He’s shown some improvements as a three-point shooter, but has still clearly maintained his identity as a tough, rugged, athletic downhill lead guard with the ability to fill it up offensively. Marsh is excellent at getting downhill, attacking the teeth of the defense, and applying pressure at ...

Re: 2023-24 Roster Breakdown & Wishlist
Updated to reflect the Tate addition from Butler! Agree with most of the above assessment performed well as a freshman for Butler before his ACL tear. His numbers post ACL recovery have yet to catch up to that production. Maybe dropping a level to the Sun Belt will help that. Good free throw shooter...

Re: 2023-24 Roster Breakdown & Wishlist
Updated to reflect the Donovan Gregory news, and Luke Ledford who has committed as a preferred walk on from the Raleigh area.
My hope is Donovan is not the best player on our roster next year, if he is our second / third offensive option watch out Sun Belt.....

Re: 2023-24 Roster Breakdown & Wishlist
It might be better than expected. Ton of talent in the portal. Kerns has had success in it before, just have to trust he will find some gems! Just curious, what is our baseline for "success" in the portal: Guys with experience / veteran addition to locker room? Guys who can start / contribute signi...

Re: 2023-24 Roster Breakdown & Wishlist
WISHLIST ADDED: 1. Big Time guard addition via the transfer portal. New era of college hoops is living (and dying) by the transfer portal. This year we saw 2 prolific guards transfer into the conference and earn 1st team all conference honors: Austin Crowley at USM and Isaiah Moore at USA. One was a...

2023-24 Roster Breakdown & Wishlist
Figured i'd get this going for the 3rd year in a row. A somewhat underwhelming season, but we did lose 62% of our scoring from the year before and clearly struggled to replace that loss. Did see a lot of good things this year like the emergence of Abson, Harcum's development, Brown & Mantis improvin...

Re: ETSU fires Coach
It’s a lateral move at best. One bid conference is a one bid conference. If he leaves for a lateral position that says more about what App has coming back than anything. Before I get labeled anti-Kerns as some tried in football, I hope he stays and wins big here. What App has coming back would be i...

Wofford Basketball Head Coach Opening
Wofford hoops has had an interim coach since middle of the season. Should we be worried that Kerns is a candidate / interested in the potential opening?

They were trending upward I felt like, going 17-16 with that roster felt like a great year for them

Re: Pensacola
Campus Sites are a logistical nightmare for our conference compared to the ASUN/others. Hypothetically Texas State's Travel this year would have been: Host Ga State -> Travel to Old Dominion -> Travel from ODU to Marshall -> travel from Marshall to Louisiana -> Travel from Louisiana to Mobile, Alaba...

Re: Pensacola
think travel is an issue for all schools regardless of location. I think it would interesting to consider going all in for a great crowd for the conference championship game, but making the first 3 rds all neutral site. So Wednesday, Thursday, Friday in Pensacola, FL. Championship game on Sunday at ...

Re: SBC Tournament - MBB vs South Alabama
I love App Bball, but if we weren’t going dancing, I’m ready for this year to end. Most frustrating I can remember. I’m sure we will never hear what the heck was going on behind the scenes, but I believe the core enjoys playing for App and will be back next year. I can’t wait to see who we add, I t...

Re: SBC Tournament - MBB vs South Alabama
good effort and clock management at the end to give us a chance. Just needed one more stop to have a shot to send it to OT. Proud of the guys and if this was Donovan's last game thank you for giving your all for Appalachian State hoops!

Re: SBC Tournament - MBB vs South Alabama
Tough to watch right now, down the stretch! We just are not a good offensive team. They appear to play hard. I’m going to look at the body language of the team down the stretch. ( I remember Delphi’s’ last game, how disgusted he looked as time wound down vs. USC UPSTATE. I think he could have come ...

Re: SBC Tournament - MBB vs South Alabama
Why in the ever loving H do we run an offense where our freshman center is handling the ball all alone in the post with no help anywhere on his half of the court? Abson got the ball poked away and resulted in a turnover and score for South Alabama. (early 2nd half) We have no offensive scheme. Our ...
