Re: 1-AA 2.0
I find it hard to believe that the SEC would be in favor of an arrangement that includes them and the BIG 12 only. They have no respect for ANY other conference and think the SEC Champion is the National Champion. They will be happy to have only SEC teams invited to the party.

Re: 2024 Spring Ball
All joking aside if after 8 games Joey has 3,200 yards (just going 400 a game) and let's say 24 TD's is he remotely in the discussion? Who is the last player from a really good G5 to even get in the discussion for the Heismann? Let's also assume we are 8-0 and Clemson is still pretty good. There is...

Watch out class of 2042.... Caleb Spurlin and his wife are having identical twins sons! Imagine having Meech's twins and Spurlin's twins on the defensive line together. Caleb Spurlin is also an assistant wrestling coach at Davie County High School in Mocksville. The War Eagles just won the NCHSAA 4...

Re: RIP Valorie Whiteside
Sad to hear. I had a class with Valerie back in the day. She was a great player on a great team in the mid 1980's. I also knew guard Jane Dalton and forward Beth Laney back then. They were a fun team to watch and had a great coach too in Linda Robinson. Lots of talent on the squad. Here's a great ar...

Re: NCAA Proposing New College Sub-division
With most of the more successful teams in the old I-AA moving into FBS this was just a matter of time. The big boys don’t want the little guys playing on their field…especially when they are beating the big boys more often. When the Delaware Blue Hens announced their plans to move up that was the fi...

I wonder if he will hire his brother as Offensive Coordinator. I believe Frank is available after recently being let go by Pitt.

Re: Fort Myers Tip Off
Was that the best half against a solid team we've ever had? It was a quality win, no doubt but App State has had a basketball program for over a century. I've been a dyed-in-the-wool fan for 60 years--plus. I wouldn't single this one out as the best ever. No way! You deserve a statue in front of th...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JwrCcFM-Rk Maybe we will have weather like this and App will wear the same uniform combo as well. https://youtu.be/6JwrCcFM-Rk?t=3 One of my cousins attended Ga. Southern and she is STILL mad about that game to this very day. According to her and her friends they sh...

Re: Initial rendering of new Sofield Indoor Facility
The article from appstatesports.com mentions that Tommy Sofield operated a successful sandwich shop for 14 years in Boone. Does anyone know the name of the shop? Just wondering if I ate there at some point. I'm pretty sure it was Yogi's. I still miss that place. Thanks for the info. I wondered if i...

Don’t forget the many people in banking and other sectors who came through the business school. As for teachers…pretty much every school in western North Carolina has many App State graduates among their faculty. Law enforcement is a growing segment of the grads and nursing’s on the rise as well.

Re: #TeamClark
Been following App and a season ticket holder for over 30 years. The last few years have seen so much change (NIL, transfer portal, etc) it has made me wonder about our "culture" of a program. JM, SS, and now SC have built that "culture" in a certain way. Signing certain types of guys, building the...

Back in Black, Play Me Some Mountain Music, Ain’t No Mountain High Enough, and Beer Never Broke My Heart ( or another Luke Combs song) should always be in the mix.

Re: Fire the DJ
I know most everyone will disagree but I don't think the music is, or should be for the players. The music at every sporting event I have ever attended (and it is a LOT) is to get the FANS fired up....that in turn fires up the players. Play what the fans want to hear and helps get them into the game...

Son of a B#$&+. Do y'all realize how far we are going to have to carry the goal posts to get them in his front yard now? Get those hiking boots on boys and girls. It's a long walk up Mount Olympus. RIP Champ. I hope we make a new tradition for him like a pregame "peacock walk" to the stadium or pea...
