Re: Peterson to Illinois?
https://fightingillini.com/news/2020/12/28/football-tony-petersen-named-fighting-illini-offensive-coordinator.aspx Does he need help packing? Man, after actually taking the time to read that, I need whoever wrote that to write my resume. If you’ve actually seen his offense though then that whole th...

Re: Peterson to Illinois?
He's a very average to below average coordinator, so this isn't a bad thing. Wish him well, but just didn't see why a P5 school would want him. We'll be OK, but I'd like a creative hire and would prefer someone who doesn't have ties to App. Hiring in the family is a lazy way to do things. Anyone we...

Re: Sun Belt Game Cancelled
https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/coastal-carolina-will-be-eligible-for-new-years-six-bowl-bid-despite-not-playing-sun-belt-title-game/ Interesting read, ccu appears to have known they would be in ny6 if they did not play. Just didn’t know which. I hope they get their butts kicked. Th...

Re: Sun Belt Game Cancelled
Stop trying to make this out to more than it is. Coastal is not scared of playing this game and just made up this COVID excuse. We can dislike them without creating conspiracies and making stuff up. I believe there's been enough disinformation in the last month that we don't need to add to it. If I...

Re: All in on Coastal
I’m definitely rooting for the Cajuns. Getting the NY6 for the Sun Belt won’t mean anything to anyone outside of the Sun Belt. Western Michigan got it a few years ago and the MAC ceiling isn’t any higher than it was before.

Re: CCU not wanting to play Troy
I decided to go on over to their fan forum just to see what they thought about the game. Here’s my favorite quote regarding the sun belt not cancelling the game for them: “ That's just incredible when we have a shot to be the best thing that this conference has ever put on a big stage (hell, we alre...

Re: Tony Petersen stats at previous jobs
I was skeptical of this hire. I still am, but before we resign the fact that this is a definite trend here at App, let remember this years challenges. 1) new staff. This is this staff’s first year together. 2) COVID.- this ties in to #1, interruptions or shortened spring and fall camps due to COVID...

Re: Conference set up. Why we need to stay SunBelt or at least a small conference
College football is making a mistake. These 16 team conferences have to be hurting with teams caring. Just from math...You should win a 16 team conference championship less than an 8 team conference championship. Most ACC teams are out of the conference race by week 3. We are much better to win an ...

Re: What happened to our offense?
I’m also not an X’s and O’s Football guy, but did anyone else notice how we came out throwing the WR screens in the first half and made them spread out and respect the outside and then it appeared as though we abandoned that in the second half even though it seemed to be working? I may have just bee...

Re: Georgia St Game Day Thread
Man this “we might be sandbagging for the next big game” crap is so obnoxious. Can we not accept that we got owned at the line of scrimmage for 90% of the game and it doesn’t matter what play you call when you’re getting man handled? Same thing happened against Marshall. We can’t get pressure on an ...

Great news for sure but I think our guys are thinking this is for football with the mention of being a G5 program and what not.

Re: The UNCC Game Thread
I would like to see the offense open it up a bit more and try to get it to guys like Virgil and Malik Williams in space and let them work. A lot of mental errors and bad weather led to a sloppy game but I’m optimistic we will clean it up. Beat UNCC by the same score last year but honestly were more ...

Re: AP Preseason Poll is out
I for one stand with UCF because the G5 needs all the help we can get. UCF’s national championship claim is no more far fetched than so many others. Everyone is entitled to their opinion on it, but if it helps the legitimacy of the G5 I’m all for it. Plus I have nothing against UCF and would love fo...

Re: Doug Gillin
I worked for app state video staff in 2009-2010 and as far as the program has come since then it’s clear Gillin has done some work. I don’t think the rise of our program happens on accident, and we’re one of the best to ever move up.

Re: App versus Campbell- 9/26
Bowl games and the college football playoff committee don’t have anything to do with the NCAA so there’s a chance those are all still on the table. CFP has said they are planning for the 2020 championship already.

Re: ESPN Pre-Season Top 25
Hello all. Long time lurker and wanted to join the fun. Haven’t seen this mentioned yet, but ESPN has is listed at 75 in their recently updated FPI. They have ULL at 61...I’ve always hated how wildly inconsistent ESPN is. I don’t think they even review their own content. I’m loving that we are menti...
