Why wouldn't it just be the announcement of their new basketball coach?

Re: Recruiting, 2013
Anybody who watched Graham Saturday night vs. Olympic knows how big a difference he's going to make in ASU next year: 23 points, 7 assists, 6 boards, 2 steals, one huge 3 to tie it with a minute to go. This guy is a true point guard and I honestly think had he kept his recruitment open, he'd be look...

Re: The Case to keep Capel one more year
and another guy will be coming in with Okam no longer with the team. Wait, what? My question as well. I saw him sitting behind the bench on Saturday. I just assumed he was injured. The game program for Saturday and a GoASU story last week said that Okam would be graduating in the Spring and was thu...

The Case to keep Capel one more year
If Neal had been eligible early, this team would be 16-13 right now. All indications are that the class coming in is his best (especially Devonte Graham and Kobani) and another guy will be coming in with Okam no longer with the team. The addition of a true PG (who's not too short) in Graham will all...

Re: Citadel
I really don't know why folks have a problem with Bobby Lutz. He knows what it's like to recruit to a non-ACC school in the Carolinas, and is a great X's and O's guy. That said, he's probably way past considering the kind of money App would offer just to be a head guy again. We missed our chance.

Re: Jason Capel... should he stay or should he go?
As much as I hate saying this, he should get one more year--ONLY because he has a good class coming in next year. I think Kobani, Scott and especially Graham could make a difference. If he doesn't turn things around significantly in 2013-14, then fire him. What would be something for the program and...

Why the hell do you care, you wanted to drop the program two days ago. I was playing devil's advocate, but you have convinced me to stick with my original point, T-Dog. It's time to say goodbye to an era that gave us such innovative coaches as Tom Apke, Houston Fancher and Jason Capel. The students...

Re: Drop men's basketball, add hockey
Good God, man, this is a frigging message board. Most of the ideas on here are pulled out of the asses of middle-aged white men. When the ASU athletic department commissions a report and pays me for it, I'll produce a budget. In the meantime, I'm just making a suggestion that's a little out of the b...

Re: 818
If App was 16-8 instead of 11-13, does anyone really think it would make that much of a difference? Yes. Step one: Start winning Step two: Get some decent programs to play us at home Step three: Win 1-2 NCAA tournament games then we will develop a basketball following. The quality of the home sched...

17,000 students on campus and a conference game vs. Furman draws 818 people! Good gracious, Mars Hill does better than this. The student body is completely apathetic to basketball and this is not going to change. If App was 16-8 instead of 11-13, does anyone really think it would make that much of a...

Re: Drop men's basketball, add hockey
What in the hell is trolling? I was just making what I thought was a legit suggestion. NOBODY CARES about basketball in Boone. If this was a business, the program would have declared bankruptcy long ago. Do something out of the box that students could get excited about and would be a revenue genera...

I can tell this is a losing battle, but there IS another NCAA Division I hockey team in the South, Alabama-Huntsville.

Re: Drop men's basketball, add hockey
I agree that lax is very popular, but we already have a successful spring sport that's well-attended and successful: baseball. We don't have a winter sport that generates excitement or revenue. That's why I think hockey is a good idea. I would rather watch a lacrosse game, but not in 20 degree Boone...

Drop men's basketball, add hockey
That Davidson game was embarrassingly pathetic. I'm convinced that making basketball work at App is fruitless these days. We have a school of 17,000 students and can't draw 2,000 to a conference game?!? The Sports Information Office and athletic department pays about the same amount of attention to ...

Re: school shooting
I don't quite understand the logic on guns aren't allowed at schools, malls, etc. Last I checked, you're not frisked or metal detected when you enter a mall or a classroom at Virginia Tech. 50 percent of the guns in the world are in the U.S., where 5 percent of the population resides. I think we've ...
