Re: 2024 Roster Updates
Just to play devil's advocate a bit, we did have a QB like Joey out of high school who was the opening starter but he broke his finger and missed the year. We missed on QBs to follow Zac Thomas but I wouldn't call Burger a miss in the same sense. More of an unfortunate circumstance that worked out f...

Re: 2024 Roster Updates
Jaden Lindsey . Dead weight Tired of having dead weight at OL with an OL as a HC. How is that possible? The coaches can’t do it for the players. You bring guys in with talent and coach them but sometimes it just never clicks. It’s more prominent with OL because it is the position group with the mos...

Re: Who left first, players or coach Kerns?
lol this is getting ridiculous. What would the athletic department say in a statement? “We are committed to a winning basketball program”. The school or players don’t use owe anything. This may be their one chance in life to get a payday if it’s about money. If it’s not about money, maybe this is th...

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)
We are a training program for the schools with deeper pockets. I guess Kerns will go looking for transfers at every level - those from big conferences that are looking for more PT and those from little schools that want to move up because they feel they are better than the school they played for. L...

Re: March Madness
I agree. Whether we all want to admit it or not, JMU has been the one of the best (if not the best) mid majors from start to finish. They are 31-3 for a reason. We matched up well and were able to take away their strength, but I don’t believe we would be beating Wisconsin this handily. They have con...

Re: And once again
Most coaches and ADs aren’t emotionally tied to the school like we are as fans. Some are and those are the ones that stay long term. Gillin has been here 10 years and has done a lot of good things for us. He’s also done some things that aren’t as good in my opinion. If he wants to move up it in his ...

Re: 5+7 model close to passing. G5 would still get screwed
I was hoping for 1 year of the 6+6. It was a pipe dream I know but just seemed like the perfect scenario with our returning cast. I do fail to see how allowing the highest ranked G5 conference champ a spot in the playoff is "screwing the G5". I think we should be realistic here. There is a stark di...

Re: NCAA Video Game
There should eventually be some sort of profit sharing agreement between the players and EA where they receive a payout after the regular season based on snaps played. We have enough data these days that the payout could be calculated within a week. Who negotiates on behalf of the players though?

Re: 2024 Spring Ball
All joking aside if after 8 games Joey has 3,200 yards (just going 400 a game) and let's say 24 TD's is he remotely in the discussion? Who is the last player from a really good G5 to even get in the discussion for the Heismann? Let's also assume we are 8-0 and Clemson is still pretty good. There is...

Re: MBB at Texas State, Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2024, 8:00 p.m. ET, ESPN+, Straham Coliseum, ¡San Marcos!, Tx., Juego de tram
No excuses from me. We have had a really good year. There have been glimmers of greatness in most games. BUT other than Auburn and maybe JMU we ain’t beat anyone. This game looked like most of the others, including the wins. We have been one “4 minute offensive drought” from losing many games . Eac...

Re: 2024 Spring Ball
Brice's weakness in our system was the lack of a run threat. Still one of the top two true passers ever at App. Literally! I remember watching him against ECU in 2021 and thinking "wow, this dude is legit". He threw a beautiful ball, especially on those deep shots. Which is where I hope Joey can ge...

Re: September 7, 2024
Clemson had 10 players enter the TP this offseason, 9 have landed at schools, 5 at P5s. They've added zero players from the TP. Bold strategy cotton. https://247sports.com/season/2024-football/transferportal/?institutionkey=24008 It is a very outdated strategy and the main reason why fans are frust...

Re: September 7, 2024
Dabo is notoriously against the transfer portal. They have only added 2 players since 2019 through the portal. Our season was very very similar to theirs last year. They were 4-4 which included 2 overtime losses, before finishing 9-4. Their fans and Dabo are counting on a huge offseason of developme...

Re: 2024 Roster Updates
Good discussion about the NT. I have to admit, I'd like to see a bigger athletic body in there but I like what our guys did this past season (for the most part). I also really like what I see in this year's incoming Freshmen. I'm aware that OL/DL generally need a year or so to develop and we rarely...

Re: 2024 Roster Updates
We were also very fortunate to have Hopper and Kelley. Both guys shifted inside after primarily being a defensive end before. We have a lot of returnees and a large freshman class. Once you begin to address the major needs (OL, secondary), it becomes a numbers game. If we have any attrition after Sp...
