Re: Hillbilly Elegy
I will never diminish hard working single parents but it’s just a fact that the traditional family works. The reason a statement like it “isn’t a realistic goal”, is uttered is because as a society we simply chose to accept less than we should have. We became selfish and decided it was just easier ...

Re: Hillbilly Elegy
Parents raising their children isn't a realistic goal... Then we need to burn the system down and start over. Of course you read it that way - Having 2 caring parents in these poor areas is not always a realistic goal I will never diminish hard working single parents but it’s just a fact that the t...

Interesting takes in the book....but I can say for my folks raised in and around Dillsboro and the NC mountains since the late 1600's, were timber people and children of the Depression ...he aint my people. Why, because he didn’t cut timber or he’s too young to be a child of the depression? Is it b...

THIS IS NOT A POLITICAL STATEMENT - I know some of you grew up in Appalachia - I'm guessing those of you from younger generations than myself had different experiences as even as slow as it is - times change. I started reading the above mentioned book a few years ago but didn't find it to be much l...

Re: Clemson Win or ECU Loss
An ECU loss has more downside than a Clemson win has upside. Why? Because of common opponents. We both play Liberty and ODU and they play UTSA which is a favorite to win the AAC. Those results could be placed side-by-side when it comes to determining who gets the CFP spot in the playoffs. As for th...

Re: Away Game Tickets
I didn’t get tickets but I think it awesome that App. State vs Clemson is a sell out and secondary market tickets are going for $500 plus. To me it says two things, our program is garnering respect and regional games are what sports fans want to see.

Re: Clemson Parking
Just spoke with Clemson athletics office about the parking situation and they told me there is no general parking on the campus for football game days, they told me we could park at shopping malls on the outskirts of the campus, along with churches outside of campus, they also told me the way to ge...

Re: Oregon NIL and an App fan promise
The spirit of the game is being destroyed and quickly. I still feel that in another couple seasons, at least for me it will no longer feel or look like college football. I’m just trying to enjoy what’s left of the sport I love. I think you will be right but I hope you’re not. But like you I have de...

So basically greed from the institutions and now the players is going to completely ruin college sports.

Re: NIL the way it was meant to be
But that begs the questions,.....whole hog or shoulders? Sliced or chopped? Vinegar or tomatoes with vinegar? I have more questions than answers, but I like the idea. I’ll take this one, pulled, not chopped or sliced, shoulder, tomato with sweet heat. Ketchup on BBQ? I didn’t say ketchup. Sweet tom...

Re: Oregon NIL and an App fan promise
It won't matter in the least but I will not buy anything else from Nike. I do not have anything against NIL but my money will not support a company that uses profits in this purpose. I'm sure he'll just raise prices to show little difference in the bottom line. I try not to buy Nike stuff but unfor...

Re: Cam Peoples
Kanye’s stats are right in line with our typical lead back over the last decade when you consider he didn’t play much in a 1/3 of the games. Darrynton Evans had 21 for 198 in 2019. Jalen Moore had 12 for 163 in 2017. Marcus Cox had 18 for 160 in 2015 and 16 for 180 in 2014. Cox also had the monster...

Re: Cam Peoples
Agreed. But in theory he should have the talent to make a cfl team The CFL is a numbers game in that you can only have so many non-Canadiens on the team. That is true and the fact they tend to use most of those on OL. Even with that he should have made a team up there. Regardless of what our coache...

Re: Cam Peoples
I haven’t seen any of Cams post and I will continue to wish him the best. I can tell you that being a former high profile App. State football player can help open doors in the real world. I can also tell you that being a disgruntled former App. State football player isn’t going to make you a living....
