Re: PAC-12 melt down
I am curious what folks on YC think SBC should do. Chips are going to fall with even more realignment. It is a possibility that ACC is next...and down to P3.. Personally, I would like to see SBC add fours teams..two to East and two to west...so each side does not play each other until championship ...

Re: Curcio leaves Cross Country/Track program
Not the case. Curcio wanted to be a lifer. The explanation alumni have been told is the current director of track and field wants his own people, so Curcio was pushed out. Unfortunately for Appalachian to have a person like Coach leave after a dominant CC program he has been a significant part of f...

Re: End of a good run, My Last Newspaper
Old school and inefficient yes. I have been getting the Charlotte Observer and Hickory Daily Record for decades. Rain, sleet, snow, they were always on my driveway. Recently received word that HDR is going to 3 days a week and both are discontinuing delivery. It's USPS from mid June on. I am not ex...

Re: Renewing Season Football Tickets
No, I get it, it's just frustrating. Wish I was rich. My own fault as I decided(called) to go into education. I love App, but family comes 1st. I can make it work now, but at the end of the day if it comes down to a decision in the future, family wins as App tickets are a luxury. I am a retired edu...

Re: Dale Jones Appreciation Thread
Anyone else hear that Ark. St. has now been held under 20 points in the last 2 years (2018, 2019, & 2020) by three teams: Georgia, Alabama, and App. State (last nite & in 2019). Pierre Banks & crew mentioned it in the post game show. Cool stuff. App's D is top notch, and it shows. You are correct, ...

Re: Stink Game
Face the inevitable, no conference championship game :( and maybe the season is over in a month from now.. Health and safety issues will rule over all App sports completing their seasons. App gave it the ol’ college try; however, having students on campus for in person classes was not the best decis...

Re: Charlotte cancels UNC game....corona outbreak
Just wondering if losing their starting QB played any into this? Charlotte was going to get a much needed check for around 400 thousand dollars...I'm sure this decision was based on tests (or a test) coming back positive. Maybe they are bummed about not having their QB but that is how things go and...

Re: Our Players need our help NOW!
I am ready to go to Raleigh about outdoor venues like football games. All the schools in the state need to rally fans . Ok in other states why not here? Getting REAL obvious! Have you forgotten some states don’t have football? We need to appreciate what we do have. Attendance with limited capacity ...

Re: Let's Go Ahead and Face It
I still think common sense will prevail and we play. Maybe common sense prevails and we don’t play! Better to not start than have to stop in mid-season. Nothing accomplished but players and staffs put at risk. Do we place our desires over the health of others? COVID-19 isn’t disappearing in 2020 an...

Re: Schedule
Will be fortunate to play one or two games. With students coming in next week and classes beginning the following week there’s enough time for COVID-19 to spread across campus by early September. I don’t foresee 18+ age college students wearing masks and social distancing. It’s a herd mentality, can...

Lottery for students, no additional costs - 4000 per game... 1500 in West Side Lower level, 1500 in East Side Lower level, 1000 on regraded Miller Hill. 5000 for season ticket holders....requires at least $1000 donation to Yosef club this year... seats sold at face value. 500 seats in North End Zon...

Re: Spring 2021 Football?
How is Spring football going to happen if a second wave comes in late autumn/winter? Maybe if a miracle happens such as a safe and available vaccine being mass produced or the virus substantially weakens and no second wave transpires. Players will need to begin practice in February and games start i...

Re: I don't get it...
Both are very good qbs but Howell definitely gets the nod in a 1-1 comparison. Thomas has significant practice and game experience over Howell so give Howell at least another year for a better assessment. They may be seriously talking the Heisman for Howell in 2021 and/or 2022.

The ACC remains committed to their 6 N.D. games and may be able to schedule more ACC vs. N.D. games this season if need be.hotrod2001 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 10, 2020 3:22 pmThis whole thing is really going to suck for Notre Dame...suddenly their Independent standing might come to bite them.

Re: ESPN+ Most Important Games for Top 25
As fun as this is to imagine, it’s just not a possibility. I don’t care if we go undefeated and both Wisconsin and Wake Forest win they Big10 and ACC respectively. They still would not put us in the top 4. I’d gladly take an NY6 slot though. Respectfully disagree, if WF and W win their respective c...

Not surprising D.G. went with a current staff member. I thought the new coach would have App connections past or present considering Drinkwitz stayed only one year. Good hire! Congrats to Coach Clark 🤩. Hope he can keep most of the assistants.

The one dude with the red striped white shirt looks like was kicking someone who was down then connects with a solid right hand to someone who pushed him away. There were more punches thrown than what usually happens in these scuffles IMO Yeah that’s what happens in a fist fight. Looks like you are...

S.S., as a former player & coach and an App grad, can take whatever from his time in Boone but he can’t take away our winning culture and mountain tradition. Good luck to him a Mountaineer forever. He will need it playing Clemson every year!
