Re: G5 Poll
G5 will become feeder program for P5 in the NIL era. I don’t think coaches look at that way. They want players that want to play. They aren’t interested in guys looking for cash. Here is an article on Brian Kelly’s approach on transfers. https://blondiewithlove.it/2024/05/08/bl-wlv/RTsd245818LtCu40...

Re: Is it time to rethink the sports we offer ?
I'm of the thought process that sponsoring NCAA varsity sports shouldn't be solely focused on making money. Other schools, including those who could afford non-revenue-gaining sports, have made cuts using the revenue excuse. Athletic scholarships are publicity and opportunities for students who may...

Re: G5 Poll
Y'all the only G5 team that's got a shot at the P5 is SMU and it's b/c they have the money. They are loaded to the hills and using the left over to wipe their butts. I see it first hand living here in Dallas and listening to their alums If UCF and Boise can't make it then we can't either. Football ...

Re: G5 Poll
Seems like the first salvo towards separation. It does and I feel like with all of these teams moving up that there is becoming more and more of a separation in the schools at this level. They feel that Michigan, Georgia, etc do not belong in the same level as Kennesaw State, Sam Houston, Akron, et...

Re: Another Portal Loss and Portal Discussion
I've been really impressed with the players we've picked up in the portal. It appears we've addressed our needs, picked up some guys that were targets in HS and filled in some depth. It will take time to see if these guys are legit but at face value I'm pretty excited for this coming season. I feel...

Re: Another Portal Loss and Portal Discussion
We're also on our 14th offensive line coach in 3 years so I am sure that plays a role in the type of player we recruit too. Some coaches prefer footwork and speed to size. Others prefer size and strength. It's not to say one way is better than the other, but I would imagine that has to play a role ...

Re: Another Portal Loss and Portal Discussion
One of our kids who went on to the NFL , for a couple of seasons, literally showed up to campus with his belongings in a couple of plastic grocery bags. We outfitted him as best we could within the confines of the rules back then. Some of these guys come from absolutely nothing. That is so true. I ...

Re: 2024 Roster Updates
DL and OL are the most over inflated positions in the portal market. Why? Because everyone needs them and they know this and leverage it in negotiations. Getting one isn’t guaranteed quality as that carcass has been picked and cleaned. Is the quality in FCS not good enough for us to pluck or are we...

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)
I’m glad we can be candid about these players now that they’ve transferred. I know it is funny. I do remember people talking about Mantis during the season. Like Appst94 said, he was either on or done and honestly he was so streaky that I always cringed when he shot late in the season. He had his m...

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)
Abson >>>>Xavier may be just a visit. He’s milking it! Crystal balled to UGA by a few insiders. Can we get UGA on the schedule? Winnable and probably could get a good App crowd from Greenville/Atlanta. Why are some of you obsessed with tracking Abson and Spillers and want to play them for revenge? ...

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)
Would you list the 11? I can't keep up with who is here and who is gone. Just a list of who we expect to have next year at this point. It sounds like we may be going small next year. CJ Huntley (6'11), Anthony Alston (6'2), Michael Marcus Jr (6'9), Myles Tate (6'0), Jerquarius Stanback (6'6), Camer...

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)
That’s not small. Young yes , small no. We are still in the hunt …, Agree. We are good enough but if we could sign one more guy who is 6'10 or taller then we would really be stacked. I would love to have 4 guys who are 6'9 or bigger. Kobe Julien to Arkansas State is a big deal. I would say they are...
