Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)
We are talking about amateur athletes getting paid $25-$100k (on top of a $25k scholarship and $6k stipend annually) to play in front of maybe 5k people and on ESPN+ with less than 30k viewers. I recommend reading that sentence out loud to realize how crazy and unsustainable this is for anyone outsi...

Re: March Madness
UNCheat fans hate when the decades of fraud is brought up.
There is no comeback and comments like rent free just make the deflection attempt worse.
Congrats to UConn the best modern era basketball program in the nation.

Re: Buy or sell? 80 team premier league
It would literally take an act of congress for something like that to form, the powers (really the top two conferences) have a straggle hold on the sport for the foreseeable future.
Fun to discuss at a bar or message board, but that's the extent of it.

Re: Buy or sell? 80 team premier league
Relegate all programs by geography. Five conferences of 12 based upon traditional P5 lines, five G5 conferences, and every year the bottom/top 2 flip. It would make every game in November so much fun. So you are suggesting a partnership with say the SEC and SBC and a MAC with BIG situation? Correct...

Re: September 7, 2024
How many years has the G5 rep in the NY6 not had a P5 win?
Need a lot of help if we lose any game.
I like the optimism to have this conversation even for an offseason discussion.

Re: September 7, 2024
Win the conference and make the NY6 bowl (or CFP) no matter the outcome. Winning a first weekend bowl game means we had a few down games in the regular season. Making the CFP means we beat Clemson and won the SBC. Nothing in the postseason could taint a season like that. Unfortunately, to a point ea...

Re: March Madness
State is , once again, trying to get out of their contractual commitment to play football in Boone , by the way. Heard rumors of that a couple years ago, game is next year, what are they offering in return? A reschedule to a future date. We know how that will end. Make them play before the NIL furt...

I attack statements, not individuals. You don’t defend coaches, that’s just not true. I defend coaches all the time, including Clark at times.
Glad we agree that Kerns is the best coach we’ve had.
Looking forward to who he can land.

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)
It’s odd that someone who rushes everytime to the defense of one coach that was struggling on the field is reminding us that a coach that just won the conference for the first time in decades isn’t perfect (which everyone has acknowledged). Kerns is the best basketball coach we’ve had during the 30+...

Re: 2024 Roster Updates
Are there positions G5 programs should no longer recruit out of HS or should we only allocate 2/3rds of the available scholarships to HS players going forward. For a period of time it seems the HS recruits outside of the top few hundred may get squeezed.

Re: Kerns agrees to new contract
Off topic - Imagine a world in which a coach holds out for more money and pays a portion of the team's NIL money. We've seen that with assistants at other schools, why not players in this wild west era.
