Re: Luke Combs
I don’t think Luke Combs’ comments are killing our program, per se, but he has quite the platform, and the more people share that defeatist viewpoint the more it comes true, because why would you donate if you feel that way. I find it to be a lazy, obtuse, fair weather fan take, probably stemming f...

Re: Luke Combs
Never underestimate the power of jealousy, everyone at the G6 level wishes they were JMU the last few years and everyone at the P4 level wishes they were Indiana.
NIL and The Transfer Portal has hurt the perennial powers more than it has hurt the little guys.

Re: Luke Combs
The biggest aspect of it all is the fact that Appalachian is in the smallest market of all the Sunbelt Conference Schools. We cannot do anything about our market share. In reality the metric that gets looked at is the size of the city in which you are located. UNCC is the only school in North Carol...

Re: G6 Playoff
Money does not equate wins. Take the amount of money that UNC-Ch is spending compared to Appalachian. We went 5 and 8 and they went 4 and 8. We had more wins that cost less to get than theirs. Granted, we are in different conferences, but I believe were we in the ACC we would do better than just fo...

Re: Luke Combs
Kind of weird they seem to only do the individual schools ceremonies now instead of one big commencement. Seems with some of them being on Thursday and Friday during the day makes it harder for some to attend. My wife wants me to walk in December but it looks like it'll probably be at like 3pm on a...

They also play the Yikas at the end of the ceremony. How cool is that?

Re: Luke Combs
Apparently Luke showed up at the School of Music graduation ceremony and got an honorary degree. I still say they should have given him one during his concert in KBS. During actual graduation makes it feel more valid. The coolest thing is that it is a bachelor's degree and not a doctorate. How many...

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
With modern technology you could send out a vote before the game with songs from different genres and different times 80,90,00, today. Let the students choose 1/3rd and the season ticket holders choose 1/3 and the football team choose 1/3 of the songs used. You do understand this is a group that ca...

Re: Luke Combs
The FCS comment should be reason enough to not play his songs in KBS going forward. I would like to get him donating to NIL and have 2-year contracts for sure. I don't like the FCS comment. It is short sided. We will be in the second tier when all is said and done if we stay where we are. The G6 is...

Re: G6 Playoff
If they were really serious, the g6 champion would play the p4 champion.
Automatic qualifiers is the only option. Without it, it is nothing but a beauty contest.

Re: What should we make of Steve Wilks new job?
After he/we wins the CFP.....Wilks will be the next coach, after the tarheels poach DLo and the tarheels go 0-13 with DLo the next year. DLo will not have Yosef's Cabin to get the knowledge/insite that we on Yosef's Cabin provide for him when he is coaching the tarheels. The rational above makes pe...

Re: UNCG, UNCW, UNCC All get more money from Raleigh
Why does App need a medical school? To serve the western third of NC? To raise the level of care in Boone and the rest of the community? To help with the shortage of doctors and increase access to care? To advance research capabilities? To build the depth and breadth of studies offered? To build an...

Re: UNCG, UNCW, UNCC All get more money from Raleigh
Maybe a medical school in Hickory for Appalachian is the reason we have a campus in Hickory now. ECU got the medical school because the state legislature did not want to give it to the state of Mecklenburg. Unlike UNC-Ch, ECU's medical school is only for instate students.

Re: Question about word choice
That has always been one of the coolest things about Appalachian State University and the state of North Carolina as a whole, you never know what sounds are going to come out of someone's face or their word choice for that matter. Take the interviews after Helene. You never knew what the person bein...
