We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Re: Private Equity in College Athletics
The people in the school of business could establish a framework for a sustainable business model to follow. Everyone talks about the current model is not sustainable, however, what some schools and fans really want is a way to poach the best players on other teams but force their best players to st...

Re: Preseason Projections
Maybe Dowell Loggains was being held back by all of those head coaches, now he has the chance to do what he wants the way he wants to do it. Besides, every college football team in North Carolina gets a pass this year except the one in Chapel Hill. 6 September 2025 when CLT plays UNC-Ch, Appalachian...

Re: Private Equity in College Athletics
What does the business school have to do with colleges and NIL.? A good business school at a college should help the college or university avoid the pitfalls of bad business moves in theory. The same is true of having a good planning department at a university, instead of just building things here ...

Re: Preseason Projections
As far as coaches go, ours has nowhere to go but up according to those rankings. Someone has to be at the bottom just like someone has to be at the top.

Re: NIL and future of NCAACF
Anyway you can go back to Gillen’s 12/19/24 App St. Aporoach to changes in college sports… he lays it out in detail. The $330k “payment” is actually a reduction in future payments made from the NCAA to Apps for 10 yrs. It is essentially less for our budget than they planned for and will have to be ...

Re: Private Equity in College Athletics
What happens when these private equity firms want to move the school to a different location? That has happened in the past with Trinity College renamed Duke by Jame B. Duke of the American Tobacco Company and Wake Forest by R.J. Reynolds.

Re: Private Equity in College Athletics
Appalachian has a top school of business, I believe they will get the best deal that can be had.
Besides, teams elevate conferences, conferences do not elevate schools.
SMU did not get better because they joined the ACC, they were good already. The same is true of BYU.

Re: Preseason Projections
I just don't have expectations for success this year and not sure going forward with the money grab that is now college football. Changes had to be made and they were, so there is a glimmer of hope, but I just can't get on board YET to our new coach being the answer, but I hope he is. The ranking o...

So we are going to lose more games this year than we did last year, that does not seem right.

Re: NIL and future of NCAACF
Appalachian is different, Appalachian beat Michigan when no one thought that was possible. Appalachian beat Texas A&M when no one thought that was possible as well as Marshall beating Notre Dame and Georgia Southern beating Nebraska. They can compete and we can compete. The only way we would not be ...

Re: 2025 Football Schedule updates
https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/40559641/top-25-college-football-stadiums-lsu-rose-bowl-michigan When you are designated by ESPN writers as one of the top 25 stadiums then it creates demand for people to check that off of their bucket list. So, I imagine some of those season ticket ...

Re: NIL and future of NCAACF
Any system new system that is agreed upon will benefit the haves and punish the have nots. It will be in the guise of leveling the playing field for everyone, but will level the field in favor of the haves. The argument that you should not have automatic qualifiers but have the best teams in the tou...

Been very fortunate with Jackson and Witten. Hopefully, we can keep the standard as we know what it could be by listening to other teams commentators from time to time. Although our camera setups and other technology may not have been as good as some other schools, one could live with it given thos...

I still miss the Double Bacon Cheeseburgers from the BI (Bavarian Inn) as well as the East and West Wing of Welborne Cafeteria. I miss the Sweet Shop and Gold Room as well. Was the BI below the cafeteria? I can't remember where it was, but I do remember the rubber pizza. The BI was below the Welbor...
