Re: Cuts at UNCA
If they become employees I fully expect scholarships to go away. You pay your own tuition at that point. In the long run this could end up cheaper for schools that shelling out for yearly scholarships. I think what you will see more of isn't colleges getting rid of programs, but more athletes skipp...

The Ivy League would survive without them.

We tailgated with them in the motor home section. Had a good time. Not going back but had no problems.

Re: September 7, 2024
I enjoy playing any regional opponent and agree more of them should look to play us if looking for a G5 opponents. However, I give four other ACC programs; Wake, Miami, UNCCH, and NCSU more credit than Clemson. Those programs were willing to come to Boone. "Were" being the operative word there, but...

Re: EXPANDING STADIUM TO 40k CAPACITY
Is it surprising that at some point someone would look at expenses VS income? I think a 100 yard facility would be great but we just keep spending money we don't have. Does anyone know how much debt we are carrying at this point on athletics facilities?

Re: Where are we at as Appalachian football?
Historically, App has done quite well with its transfers or maybe they are the only ones we hear about like Daniel Jeremiah; he transferred from what is now ULM. I agree but I also think that the future and pre portal are going to be different. In the past when i guy hd to sit out a year he put a l...

Re: we got a QB transfer from Texas
I used to coach a good bit of baseball when my boys played. Had some guys who would tout a kid as really good as he threw hard in the batting center. I would always say let's see how he does when people are watching and there is a batter in the box. Some still do ok some butt pucker and melt- and t...

Found this interesting. A local business had been using a college BB player to do comercials about a year ago. He has been replaced by a past spokesperson and a retired pro football player. Not seeing any " NIL" around here, not that I watch everything.

He was a prefered walk on at Texas. He's listed as a signee for Texas on 247, and shows offers from Texas, Arkansas, Iowa State, NC State, Louisiana, UNT, Texas State, and UTSA. PWO's don't show as signees. My bad, I read too fast and missread the following It’s also worth noting that Chip Brown of...

Hope it ends up on 2 I don't get U
I will admit I have watched about as many APP games this year as I have in the last 30 years combined. I have really enjoyed it.
