Some guys just want to transfer. In order to do that and continue to compete they must enter the portal. Non-athletes transfer every semester, no portal requirement for them though.
We don't spend the money and time on the non-athletes that we do on the athletes.

When more guys fail to land another offer this will settle down for G5 guys who haven’t proven squat.
Guys who have not proven scuat are not our problem and often may be a soulution. It is the guys who have proven themselves who are our problem, and will continue to be a problem.

It will likely get worse before it gets better.
Until these kids get solid advice from adults on consequences that linger by transferring by choice, it isn’t going to get better.
You have much more faith in those " adults" than I do.
The "ADULTS" are the problem...
My point exactly

Re: Two minute warning, helmet comm approved

And Johnny Unitas called his own plays - drew them up on the field sometimes. Fun to watch. Patrick Mahomes does this with Kelce. Brady used to do it with Gronkowski. How do you think two guys get open so easily, so often? They just run to an open spot, Mahomes or Brady get's it there, and they run...

Re: Another Portal Loss

And there lies the Catch 22. Say Spellman steps up and has a great year. Are we having this same conversation next year? It’s the world we live in. We are never going to have the money to compete with these P5s so I have fully expected it. I just hope we are able to get some good ones from FCS, lik...

Burger was hired to be the QB heir . I mean recruited to be …in either case , he crapped out.
Because he was hired by someone else. Someone with a hell of a lot more money than we have.

I agree with 704, I’d like Gillin to outlast Everts.

Re: Cuts at UNCA

If they become employees I fully expect scholarships to go away. You pay your own tuition at that point. In the long run this could end up cheaper for schools that shelling out for yearly scholarships. I think what you will see more of isn't colleges getting rid of programs, but more athletes skipp...

Agree. I envision that some schools will simply drop some of these sports entirely.
The Ivy League would survive without them.
It will be more than some.

Re: September 7, 2024

I enjoy playing any regional opponent and agree more of them should look to play us if looking for a G5 opponents. However, I give four other ACC programs; Wake, Miami, UNCCH, and NCSU more credit than Clemson. Those programs were willing to come to Boone. "Were" being the operative word there, but...
