Re: South Ally
Really good road win. South Alabama looks better than I expected. Hope we don’t get them again come tournament time, they’ll be a tough out.

Re: South Ally
Yah one of the few decent opportunities within conference play to maintain or improve net/kenpom rating not to mention importance of staying in top few conference spots.

Re: App vs Asheville in Hickory
Realistically App could probably drop one more game, win out until conference tournament, and reasonably get an at-large. The OOC schedule & weak in-conference play (JMU aside) just doesn't give much margin for error, but I think much more is dependant on how the team does in the two JMU matchups + ...

Re: App vs Asheville in Hickory
We'll likely face Akron, Kent St, or Toledo in the second game of the SBC/MAC challenge. It'll be a desperately needed boost to SOS and outside chance of a Quad 2 win based on their conference performance.

Re: @ Queens 12/13 in Charlotte
App #50 in ESPN Net Ratings now. I haven't looked back, but this has to be the teams highest since the introduction of them. Unfortunately not a lot of opportunity to improve given the SOS moving forward although James Madison is #27 so chance for a couple high quad wins if they keep rolling.

Build with the students. Just like football. Throw the kitchen sink at driving student attendance and the rest will follow.

Re: Austin Peay
I like how Kerns hasn't been afraid to tweak the startering lineup a few times. Spillers has been really good. The deeper lineup has also meant that Donovan gets a little more time to rest.
It's early, but it's been a longtime since App has had a Top 100 Kenpom team.

That's awesome! I admit I looked to see if they actually sold to capacity and great to see they did.

Re: Fort Myers Tip Off
Down by one point at half which given how most of the middle of the half went is pretty solid. When the defense is clicking it begets more offense, especially when they push the court, but when UNCW is shooting well the pace hasn't turned in our favor. UNCW also 7/17 from vs 2/10 for App which has b...

Re: ESPN Consensus ...
Sunbelt had an abysmal start to the MAC tipoff. Hopefully App can help a bit so the conference RPI isn't toast right off the bat.

Re: 23-24 Expectations & Predictions
The schedule this season seems really geared for a nice run of homegames that will hopefully drive attendance even higher. It's kind of cool seeing a stairstep of games up to Auburn. The students have done a really good job turning out and I think if the oncourt product is even better this season th...

Re: ESPN Consensus ...
Cool to see! I've got faith that the defense will show up, that's been a constant strength with Kerns (and particularly players like Gregory), but the big wildcard will be offensive efficiency. Possessions are just so critical in his system that if we come away with a few more FT shots + couple fewe...

Re: KenPom ranks App MBB No. 1 in Sun Belt preseason
Our schedule this season at least opens up the possibility of an at-large if we crush the OOC portion. There are 4-5 teams that could possibly be decent tier wins in addition to Auburn at home. Especially if we're the best in Sunbelt and grab a good MAC opponent for the late season matchup. Regardle...

Re: What if?
I mean in retrospect I think if we don't have a serious injury issue from the Georgia Southern Sunbelt game in '22 we probably win the Sunbelt tournament that year. We were so thin on the bench to begin with that I honestly think that was the straw that did it. And last year's team was the best Kern...

Re: 23-24 Schedule
Nice, fun schedule! The SOS might be lacking but lot of winnable games. Great to see several games prior to Auburn. Hope the students turn out in force for that game, nice to have it on a weekend. Anyone know if it'll be televised?

Re: No tailgate spots for students this season
This decision is asinine. Is the administration trying to kill the gameday environment? A lot of schools fight tooth and nail to get turnout similar to what App Football already achieves with the students. While I don't disagree that there are a lot of YC members looking to park, the great student a...

Re: 23-24 Schedule
We won't play at a D2. Scheduling has been tough , trying to get home and homes is an uphill climb , no pun intended. But we are close and I like what I'm hearing .A tough non-conference slate. Nice, hopefully pans out! We've had a couple recent seasons (like 21-22) where the non-conf schedule look...

Re: 23-24 Schedule
Ideally we land one of the in-season tournaments where we can get 3~ neutral court games over a single weekend. If that happens it will need to be against better opposition with better results than last season. Pretty sure we have Northern Illinois in the MAC- SBC challenge. Agreed last season was ...
