Re: 25-26 in the books …
If Football was the program it once was and we land 15 points instead of 3, we finish tied for 2nd in the standings. Looks like we are better overall than we were a few years ago (minus Football)

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
Just win games. That is what everyone is being paid for. My personal opinion is 3 yrs max and depending on results maybe 2. I really don't care about personality. I have no desire to party with any coach. Just win games. That’s always going to be the biggest part of it. But, Clark did a great job r...

Re: Offseason thread: recruiting, transfer portal schedule, general discussion
We can play two plus two and rotate the middle with what we have on the roster now. Of course we are still recruiting hard but I'm not concerned .I think it's shaping up to be a fun team to watch. Agreed. Uptempo game constantly pushing. The ball up court. Could be a really exciting style of play. ...

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
Over the past 5 years how many G5’s have averaged 8 wins in football and averaged finishing in the top (say) 5 in their conference in basketball and baseball? Threw in baseball for whatever but mainly the first 2. I’m looking for the most consistent winners at our level over the period. We've avera...

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
I definitely don't think we should give up on HS recruiting, but I do think the best path forward for the portal is to look for experienced / proved players from FCS and D2. They will be more ready to contribute and more affordable. I don't know where the proper balance should be but I hope we find...

Re: Time for the App State Football SPRING GAME?
1. I have little interest in a Spring Game. I have no interest in watching a Spring practice. 2. When we attended the open house (or whatever it was called a few years ago) in August), we knew most of the roster and knew who we were talking to. Now, there’s very little connection between the fans an...

Re: FBS to be split- Now we know why schools paid heavy prices to move up
It’s worth remembering that this board is the vocal minority. In sales, it’s a fact that 80% of your headaches will come from 20% of your clients. They’ll be the ones raising a stink about every little detail. When 35,000 fill Kidd Brewer 6 Saturdays a year, only about 25 of them have ever complain...

Re: Luke Combs
I saw a stats the other day that there are 22 college basketball players from high profile programs (assuming P4) schools that played at their school for four years. Did it list the colleges? It would be interesting to see if that list of schools is the same for the most part every year or if there...

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
Fans demand an OC. Dowell hires an OC. Fans still bitc*. We are doomed. If he hired an offensive coordinator who won’t be calling plays, then what’s he there for? It sure looks like DLO hired a figurehead but will still try and do it all himself. If that’s the case fans may have a right to be aggra...

Re: Portal time 25-26
Gone are the days of being better than teams on paper. Starting out the season with 0 wins. No gimmes on the schedule with 70+ new guys. We could go 0-12 or 12-0! CFB is now so intriguing because you don’t know what you’re going to get at all anymore. It's like a box of chocolates. Or Ex-lax

Re: Boone Area Chamber of Commerce Award
Forgive my ignorance, I haven't lived in Boone for over 20 years, and while I make it to town as often as I can, I don't know Boone today like a local would. My question is this: are there enough "large businesses" in Boone to make this an actual award? I assume the way the press release is written...

Yeah, capacity is 5,200. Not even close to half full. Speaking of capacity. Are we ever going to decrease capacity for some box suite additions and standing room areas? Think this would be a great idea if funds are there. We don’t need 9k or whatever it holds. We can shed some sections/seats and st...

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
My issue with the OC is that he isn't a good one, he wasn't in the NFL and not really in college either. How does he compare to App’s last three OCs - Ponce, Barbay and Peterson in your opinion? I just want to have a clear understanding of how you would rank the 4 and why? This is why I won't compl...

Re: Spring game April 18th
Raising some quick cash at the spring game? That won’t be hard. We’ll have the Octagon set up in Jerry Moore plaza. Then the DLo lovers/haters can settle their differences the old fashioned way. Y’all plan on meeting me at the mini-storage the night before for load-out. Will that be held pre-Spring...
