Re: 2024 T&F Championships

I did some quick internet sleuthing, and what's above appears to be correct. Some schools, including both Georgia schools, don't have a men's track team, but they do have a women's track team. I wonder why that is. Title IX? Lack of participation? Budgets? I'd bet it's Title IX. I'm far from an exp...

Re: 2024 T&F Championships

I know for a fact JMU cut men's track due to Title IX. They were at about 60% females enrolled, however only 50% of athletes were female. To bring that athletic number up to match enrollment as close as possible they cut some men's sports.

Re: New EA Sports NCAAF Release Trailer Features App St

If memory serves me, it was said that App was one of 15 schools chosen to be a part of the marketing of the game, but no one was real sure what all of that entailed or would be at that time. I was told they were asked to provide lots of photos, graphics, and bio like information, which was probably...

Absolutely incredible and will be a day 1 purchase, even though it’s an EA game.
I feel like we played against each other a time or two back in school. I will also be purchasing this day one, and probably not get much done around the house for a month or so

Re: NC State series in danger?

Bigger question is, does this become a trend? Do some of these Big Ten schools like Penn State and Ohio State who are no longer paired to meet every year now say, let's kick Akron and Miami (OH) to the curb on the years we aren't scheduled as conference foes, and call it an OOC game? Could be the di...

I wore shorts in during cold weather for many years following graduation...a habit I picked up on the mountain.
To this day, no matter the accumulation, I shovel snow wearing shorts. Also something I started while in college.

Re: Virginia law allows schools to pay athletes for NIL

Everyone wants to have a competitive advantage. Most believe more money would give them that advantage. Some schools have always had a competitive advantage. What is Appalachian's competitive advantage? because it has never been money. More recently I would say facilities, which indirectly I guess ...

Re: Virginia law allows schools to pay athletes for NIL

At every turn we continue to push the cost of "higher" education higher. Jimmy - Why is tuition so expensive? Jimmy's Dad - Well Jimmy you see dorms rooms used to be cinder block rooms you shared with another person that had two common bathrooms/showers per floor, now it's an arms race for suite st...

Re: Buy or sell? 80 team premier league

Relating it to the EPL...many of the players in the EPL have a relegation clause in their contract which basically states if their club is relegated down to the Championship League, then they have the right to seek a new team. I could see the same thing happening in this format with how open the tra...

31- 3 gets JMU a 12 seed. That seems like the kind of BS that isn't good for us.
Sun Belt was very weak this year. Only other great team in the conference beat JMU, twice. Not surprised. Will be a tough matchup with Wisconsin, then potentially Duke the second round.

Re: MBB vs Arkansas State, Sunday, March 10, 6 p.m. ET, ESPN+, Pensacola Bay Center, Pensacola, Fla., Sun Belt semis

I won't be mad to see JMU get bounced in round 1 Can’t stand them, but I might take them to the sweet 16. Their first game will be the most predicted upset on brackets guaranteed. I think that depends on the matchup, and I base that off the fact I watch A LOT of college basketball and not just my d...

Where are people getting this JMU at-large bid talk from?

I've not seen it on any major sports news bracketolgy or predictions. Not even a mention of a last four out.
