Re: App State @ UNCG

[quote="YesAppCan"]I am heading to the ballgame tonight along with HapApp. I hope plenty of folks on here will come out to the game as well.

I'll be heading down to Greensboro for tomorrow's 2pm game. I'm hoping to see a good crowd of APPs there then as well.

Re: GaSouth hires Mark Byington as Men's BB Coach

Others with more knowledge, correct me if I am wrong, but seems to be pretty soft hire to me. "Soft" in comparison to what? I don't know about you but I'll take a guy with 7 years of experience as lead assistant at a basketball school like CofC, under a guy like Cremins. Add in that 1.5 year stint ...

Re: Eric Church in ACM's

Very rarely. It's mentioned in most articles that EC is an ASU alum, especially national pubs and those rags not affiliated with "only" country music, but it seems as if he tries to steer away from the fact unless asked specifically. I don't think of this so much as a diss to us, to ASU, but rather ...

Re: Liberty next SBC addition?

We are already going to be going to Texas State and UT-Arlington so guns on campus is in our future regardless of Liberty's presence in the Sun Belt. Unless they have passed new laws very recently, I believe that all campuses in Texas are still no guns allowed. I know that our campus is and out her...

Re: Liberty next SBC addition?

Just to be clear. as I said yesterday, I really don't care about their religious beliefs. I am one who believes god put us here. Science has not shown me another way but that has NOTHING to do with my opinion of Liberty Sports. Sports are sports. My objection is the gun issue and what that has made...

Re: Liberty next SBC addition?

So...just because you, as you say, have "overwhelming scientific consensus" means it's right? I don't know about you but I don't make up my mind to buy toothpaste when a commercial says, "9 out of 10 dentists" agree, even though that is pretty overwhelming evidence that dentists must favor that par...

Re: Liberty next SBC addition?

When visiting a friend of mine(liberty student) in Lynchburg circa 2004 the college party atmosphere in Lynchburg was just as prevalent as it is on any campus across America. Liberty is not going to be considered a party school but this rah rah we are all sober and all say nice things about our opp...

Re: Liberty next SBC addition?

I will just say that I disagree with your statement of "borderline diploma mill". I was at Liberty for two years (99-01), when Liberty was held in much less regard then than now, and in my 5 years (undergrad & graduate) at ASU (I lost one year because of the religious classes not being transferable...

Re: Liberty next SBC addition?

Though I disliked the school before today's news this is insane. Why in the world would I come to a game with a soon to be 3 year old son and have to be worried that a pissed off drunk Liberty student might wanna take out frustration of our drubbing of them on me. I myself am not going to conceal c...

Re: Liberty next SBC addition?

Well I turned on the news this morning and Liberty was in it. I will now completely reverse my stand on Liberty. I DO NOT WANT THEM IN ANY CONFERENCE WE ARE IN. I don't get a vote but I will NEVER step on their campus. They are stone cold nuts! You'd be missing out then! I'd love to travel back to ...

Re: Liberty next SBC addition?

If Liberty is the best available, God help the SBC if there are more defections. They would be a middle of the pack SoCon team, and would solidify the SBC as the weakest, most desperate conference. They are a private school/borderline online diploma mill, and are an obvious bad fit with the other c...

Re: Liberty next SBC addition?

In relationship to other FCS schools, Liberty's facilities dwarf those of any private school in FCS and superior and equal to everyone else in the division. They are a lot like App and Ga Southern in that they simply do not fit the FCS model any longer. Too me Liberty has done nothing but put lipst...

Re: Football Stadium Expansion

Is there even a college football stadium that has a corporate sponsorship? To add clarification, that would not include universities that play in pro stadiums or other multi-use stadiums. Kennesaw State University and Fifth Third Bank Stadium http://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/news/2013/02/14/fifth...

Re: Liberty Releases New Branding In Advance Of FBS Move

We need a Liberty section on this folder for the three people who care about Liberty. Hell, next thing we know we're going to have a bunch of Liberty fans register to discuss their school, much like the Charlotte fans. I'm beginning to think the OP is trolling us... You do see that my Liberty posts...

Liberty Releases New Branding In Advance Of FBS Move

Liberty released new branding yesterday "prior to the anticipated advancement of Liberty’s athletic program to the highest levels of NCAA competition over the next few years." I think the timing also has to do with the movement of the Flames Sports Network (LFSN) to more of a national profile with i...

Re: Liberty Opens *Partially Finished $8 Mil., 2500-Seat Sta

That is one fine baseball stadium Liberty built. Wish we had employed some professionals who do that sort of thing for a living instead of going cheap and doing it in house. Now we are faced with having to re-do many parts of it. I know, I know... its better than what we had. The trouble is - as is...

Re: Liberty Opens *Partially Finished $8 Mil., 2500-Seat Sta

Note to self: Remember when posting ANYTHING relating to Liberty to be prepared for a few pages of somewhat off-topic religious based friendly banter. I've made this mistake before...you think I would have learned, but alas, my "Liberty Facilities Update" has delved into Vaginal probing, etc. Have t...
