Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread

Selection committee chair heavily emphasized strength of schedule in saying why a team like Mercer didn't get in. He credited teams like Santa Barbara for going out and playing tough series (they went to Southern Miss). Troy was barely above .500 overall, but their schedule was brutally tough. The m...

Re: 2026 Team Previews

After the Spring Tour event in Boone last, I gotta say I'm feeling better about the team this season. I can see more clearly what Dowell is trying to do. I'm also surprised at how involved Steve Wilks has been so far and he has spoken highly of Dowell's mentality. Wish everyone could listen to Wilks...

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread

I retract my previous statement and in its place, will say "that boy good," in reference to Flukey.

He's getting a good signing bonus in a few weeks being a first round pick.

There's a lot of scouts behind home plate today? Who are they looking at, Burt Reynolds?

Coastal blew it, so they're #2 and in our bracket.

Southern Miss wins the regular season title outright.

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread

According to the tiebreaker gurus, App State will play Texas State in the first round of the Sun Belt Tournament at 10 a.m. on Wednesday. The Bobcats just swept Marshall in San Marcos. Tuesday sudden death games: #10 Marshall vs #7 Louisiana #9 Georgia State vs #8 Old Dominion Winners go to the doub...

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread

On a positive note, Southern Miss run-rule walked off Georgia Southern with a homer to beat then 11-0 and send the Eagles to a 16-40 finish, worse than any App State season in 21 years.

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread

Due to a combo of results from Friday, App is officially locked into the 3 seed due to winning every potential tiebreaker.

Has FCS expanded to 34 teams?
FCS has been at 24 since right after we moved up. It was 20 when we left.

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread

All finals now. Southern Miss and Coastal are tied for first at 20-8. Funny enough, the tiebreaker is record vs 3rd place App State, so Coastal remains the No. 1 seed. App can't go any higher in the standings at 17-11. Troy is a game back in 4th at 16-12, but we got head-to-head tiebreaker so it's m...

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread

We officially will play at least two baseball games in Montgomery and start on Wednesday.

That was a major goal and now it's there. Now to win one more to wrap up Top 4 and be the home team on Wednesday.

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread

Theyre moving into a new downtown stadium at the Fulton County Stadium site next year.

104 pitches through 5 for DiRito. No brainer to pull him and rest him for Wednesday in Montgomery.

Re: 2026 Team Previews

There's less than 10 Clark players left, and half of them are walkons who never play. NIL funding is up multiple times over. Season tickets still sold out. No excuses for Dowell. I know it's Year Two, but there's too much at stake. In CFB, you either win or make people feel good about their team to ...

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread

Short week this week. Games start Thursday. Curious to see how Kermit manages the staff. Kermit likes to keep Dirito and Gage on Friday and Saturday as he did so Easter week, but the conference tournament isn't a regular schedule and they'll likely pitch Wednesday and Thursday in Montgomery. Think ...

Re: July 25 2026 Stadium Concert - Jon Pardi

The Pardi concert tickets start a $72.20 for upper stadium seating. Over $100 on the field itself.

App is also selling parking spots in the lots around the stadium for $50 a pop. You can add it onto your ticket purchase.

Niko Moon tickets are a lot cheaper.

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread

Good news is that USA lost, so we remain in third. More important, the right combo of wins and losses happened today so App State is all-but locked into the Top Six and avoids the play-in round (tiebreaker versus Marshall and ULM). Now to get the bats right in whatever suburb of Atlanta GSU plays in...
