Re: Preseason Projections
Hopefully we will have a couple of guys on defense who can take charge on the field and keep the other players in position. We were all frustrated last year by either the lack of tackling or simply guys being completely out of position. I miss those days (not that long ago) when we swarmed to the ba...

Re: Two more?
Seems like the NFL and MLB kind of figured out that some of their divisions were geographically stupid. The Reds used to play in the NL West with LA and SF. The NFL made their divisions better as well. College athletic conferences are so stupid especially at our level. It might also be my age talkin...

Re: Indoor facility. Sofield is down.
WIth a full length IPF it's time to make the temporary seats under the NEZ permanent with wings almost connecting to the sides. Agreed. This is much less of a cost, in the interim, than the proposed East tower. The set up with temporary stands is tight for players coming in and out onto the field. ...

Re: Great App State Follow
I have come to the conclusion that there is really not much to gain from watching a kids high school highlights. We have had our share of running backs whose highlight reels were unbelievable then they hit the next level and no longer run over those 175 pound linebackers or run away from defenders. ...

Re: Indoor facility. Sofield is down.
How many schools have full size indoor facilities? Do they make the ceilings high enough to allow for punting?

Re: Sun Belt presidents to vote Monday on Louisiana Tech
Very telling numbers. I tried to keep up but what is generally our bottom line as far as “available funds” that could go for player salaries? Always heard generally nothing really left over. Also as far as conferences go it’s really a no brainer. App, JMU, Coastal and probably Marshall should be ali...

Re: Dowell Loggains SI Article
One aspect of the “pay the poor abused players” argument that kills me is that blanket assumption that schools have made “billions” off of these indentured servants. Zero of them has ever been forced to play a sport and I seriously doubt that outside of maybe 40 schools the rest have either operated...

Re: QB1 battle?
App State -8.5 vs Charlotte Just saying. They need to change it to -28!! We got a great QB1 and QB2 and our WRs overall will be the best in the Sunbelt. Oh...we got great RBs too. The "D"???? who knows. If the defense can play well, we beat them like a drum. Just my opinion and how I feel. I'll tak...

Re: Dowell Loggains SI Article
I’ve asked many times about what I would perceive as locker room envy. Some have agreed it must exist and some dismiss the notion. You see those pro guys who sometimes make the public statements about their teammates “getting the bag”. Human nature and competitiveness exists. There is no way in hell...

Re: House of Reps bill on NCAA issues
When is the last time the NCAA “cracked down” on a school or athletic program? Long time. The stuff schools and programs used to get in trouble for seem long gone. If a booster flat out hands a star football player an envelope of cash does anything even remotely happen? Is the term student/athlete s...

Re: Sun Belt presidents to vote Monday on Louisiana Tech
At the end of the day does it really matter who is in the Sunbelt short of adding P4 type schools? As fans I think we now have to decide what we want in terms of entertainment value. Is it enough to simply accept our place in the new world of “college football”? Just hope for some fun game day exper...

So does that retooled conference automatically become a power conference again? Do those G5 schools get elevated to power level simply because they joined a disjoined conference?

Re: Preseason Projections
The comments about the low attendance by App fans for some of the western road games reinforces the fact that it’s absolutely stupid for conferences to be so spread out. Theoretically (in my mind) App should really be a bus ride away from almost every conference opponent. I’ll readily admit that we ...

Re: Preseason Projections
Who are the actual returning starters from last season? How many of them should realistically start again this year? If it’s less than half and if we lost most of the two deep making any real assessments is pointless

Re: NIL and future of NCAACF
So will there be contract negotiations between the stud free agent quarterback who is demanding $10m a season, or that 6’8” LeBron type power forward who can command pro level money? It will be interesting to see how this money is distributed and will this be public knowledge? Will there be a colleg...

Re: NIL and future of NCAACF
Is there such a thing as being academically ineligible anymore? If that no longer exists what’s the point in actually awarding and paying an athletic scholarship? Why not simply just sign 85ish football players, let them find their own places to live, pay them their salaries from the “scholarship fu...

Re: SBC Bowls 2025-26
Just looked it up and the last 3 New Orleans bowl games each had a reported attendance of under 15k. The one in 2021 was under 20k. Why would most App fans who live in NC want us to play in that game if the goal is to have one more game to attend? If we don’t make the CFP or NY6 seems like a Dec 23 ...

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread
Wonder how many of those 4,938 have ended their careers because they were provided a path to do so. Exactly. Isn’t the general statistic that about 60% of the annual Portal entrants don’t end up with another school and wash out? If that’s true most fans simply focus on the upper echelon of athletes...
