Re: Boise Discussion - 7:30pm
We never played against Virginia Tech We've played VT at least 2 times since about 1985 I think only once. We definitely didn’t play VPI in 2011. I don’t know why people make up that game happening. It’s irresponsible and dangerous https://www.espn.com/college-football/game/_/gameId/312460259/app-s...

Re: Boise Discussion - 7:30pm
All other things being equal would having JA at QB would have made much difference? Those lost TD’s at the end zone would not have been positively impacted by him. The line would be the same, defensive backs the same. I doubt we beat Boise with him. Don’t get me wrong would be great but as I said, a...

Re: Boise Discussion - 7:30pm
I’ll add one other observation. After a bad team plays poorly to include numerous stupid penalties and horrible turnovers and terrible execution the coach invariably says we will work on cleaning that stuff up. I have found that rarely does that happen. Bad teams usually do the same stuff repeatedly...

Re: Boise Discussion - 7:30pm
The transitive arguments get insane here. It’s irrelevant saying team A beat team B who beat team C who also was bad 8 years ago but beat team B 5 years ago… When we were really good in the FCS championship years I really felt like our program was close to a solid BCS (or whatever the term was for t...

Re: Boise Discussion - 7:30pm
How large or small is the gap between an average G5 who loses most of their better talent every year to P4’s and a really good FCS? Ten years ago I’d say the gap was larger than now. I don’t advocate dropping back down but have we seen the last power school play in Boone? Is the Belt basically on pa...

Re: Boise Discussion - 7:30pm
I ask this with all seriousness. It’s mentioned over and over that we can only compete with a big influx of money. How exactly is that going to work at App? How much money is needed? What is the ROE that is acceptable? If we go 6-6 on average is that worth it? Will money buy desire? Will money prev...

Re: Official City of Trees prediction thread
I always predict with my heart and not my head. I picked us to beat Clemson. Ouch. Like many I have no idea who our team is yet. App- 61 Boise- 24 Why not. Significant number this week Hope we are somewhat healthy and we aren't the TO machine we've been and the score isn't APP 24 Boise 61 My points...

Re: Week 4 games
No doubt that post game comments are loaded with "coach speak" but teams enjoy beating a dominant program that is "down". We all know the status of App, but feel free to continue beating the drum if you think it helps. I agree with that part about beating a dominant program when they are down. The ...

Re: Week 4 games
I believe some coaches simply try to be nice after a game when they say things like circled a game and other general comments about the team they just beat. It’s all opinion and what not but the whole “their Super Bowl” seems a bit overblown to me. I don’t know who else So Miss plays but they most c...

Re: Week 4 games
OK State was winless in conference last year and looks bad. I believe they were favored by 11.5 tonight. Wish I had laid a bundle. That line looked ridiculous.

Re: Week 4 games
Makes me wonder why some schools keep trying to play football at a higher level. Some never get over the hump and keep pumping huge money into the effort. In my opinion college football, especially at the FBS level simply has too many teams (similar to most professional leagues). It simply isn’t sus...

Re: AP voter doubles down
All you have to look at is USC (3-0) one spot below Notre Dame (0-2). How many teams after week 3 have been winless yet still in the Top 25?

Re: Week 4 games
All things considered I would rank paying a massive buyout to a college football coach to basically just go away ($22m) among the top 5 most insane wastes of money. There are obviously plenty of examples in society as a whole but in the sports world this absolutely blows my mind. If I recall didn’t ...

Re: QB depth chart for Boise
We must at all costs avoid playing Paul Crew. App State can Ill afford a gambling scandal and besides his former team thought that Appalachian State was no more than a tune up game. We also don’t need another game where the offense waits until the 4th quarter to attempt a comeback.

Re: Vol Football (Aguilar watch)
I’ll admit I tuned in and watched a good bit of the UT game Saturday and had that fleeting thought that if JA lit up UG and UT won would his name start being knocked around as a Heisman contender. He did really well Saturday and is off to a nice start. Personally at this point I don’t really care mu...

Re: So Miss discussion
Help me understand exactly how some of you big NIL proponents believe it would work at App. How much money would it take (theoretically) to get us to whatever plateau is expected here. I’m really not trying to be argumentative nor am I pointing the finger at anyone here. I just read that it’s going...
