Re: New WBB coach: Alaura Sharp
Dang, lot of players in the group that seem to be able to put up some numbers. Looking forward to seeing them in the black and gold.

Re: 2024 Baseball Mega Thread
CJ Boyd with walk off single to win the game 12-11. Late inning heroics again.

Re: 2024 Baseball Mega Thread
Finally got that third out, still clinging to a 1 run lead heading to bottom of 7. Time to pad that lead.

Re: 2024 Baseball Mega Thread
3 run shot brings ETSU to within 1. App 11-10 in top 7. Seems like we are going to need some more late inning heroics from our guys.

Re: 2024 Baseball Mega Thread
Bad things tend to happen when you walk the bases full. 3 runs so far, still 11-7 App. Got the strike out to end the inning.

Re: 2024 Baseball Mega Thread
I just don't understand why there is not graphic for the outs. I can see the count, the men on base, the inning, the score, but no indication of how many outs there are. Just makes not sense to me. There is literally an empty box under the count that could easily display the number of outs. Frustrat...

That is a low amount of runs for 3 games in any level of baseball.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2024 8:02 amFor college baseball, that is a low amount of runs. The game of baseball is crazy sometimes

Re: Another Portal Loss and Portal Discussion
Boy, he sure didn't last long on the mountain. You would think that a kid that spent 3 years at Texas would have come to Boone in much better position to compete (for a backup position) than what evidently occurred. I mean, Sark is supposed to be a qb whisperer type of oc and coach. Of course, now w...

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)
I read a 247 article that says the median basketball NIL spending for 2024-25 will be $1.5m per team. That is among power programs. The Sun Belt average is about 200k I heard. Even that number seems out of reach for us, not that I have any basis of knowledge on that issue. I would be surprised if w...

Re: 2024 Baseball Mega Thread
I will give you the part about the higher learning Law degree could be handled on the mountain. ( I would argue it could be done both on the mountain and off the mountain....let the professor travel) but, if you think North Carolina is going to build a BIG MAJOR hospital in Boone you are still smok...

Re: 2024 Baseball Mega Thread
I am a "Happy Appy" that loves Boone NC. I have a place in Linville and am in no way saying Boone doesn't deserve App baseball. However, I think Hickory is a huge opportunity to take on ECU and UNCC. WE NEED TO EMBRACE HICKORY AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. I think it would be strategic to get Hickory locals...

Re: 2024 Baseball Mega Thread
I guess, the games then aren't for the students to attend. I doubt we would be able to play rent free in Hickory. I'm three hours away, so it doesn't directly affect me but if I were a student I wouldn't be happy that I would have to drive 45 minutes just to see my team play. The games in Hickory a...

Re: 2024 Baseball Mega Thread
I think we should move them there Play games there most of the time. Hickory has the ability to get on board to support baseball with 4000 people. Boone does not. I guess, the games then aren't for the students to attend. I doubt we would be able to play rent free in Hickory. I'm three hours away, ...

Re: 2024 Roster Updates
McHugh leaving is not really a surprise. He was recruited by a previous OC/QB coach and never really seemed to crack into a reserve roll. Add to that we pull in another more experienced QB from Texas in the transfer portal and I am sure McHugh saw the writing on the wall that his time at App would n...

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)
I would never ever send my kids to a college that underhandidly funneled my money to pay athletes salaries. If someone wants to throw their money away in NIL then more power to them, but if a college ever started funneling student fees to pay athlete salaries I hope they get sued into oblivion and ...

Re: 2024 Baseball Mega Thread
This is our second player to win Sun Belt Player of the Week honors, and in consecutive weeks. Not sure how long it has been since we have done that, if ever. Looking at the list, it is 1 from Troy, 2 from Texas State, 2 from Coastal, that is some good company to be keeping in the world of college b...

https://twitter.com/SunBelt/status/1775222947902259333?s=20 Kermit's success in the portal for bats has been outstanding the past few years. I wish we had an NIL deal for Xander Hamilton to return. Makes you think we would be close to a postseason team if we had him this year. I am still hoping we ...
