Re: Why don't we have a nice hanging scoreboard in Holmes?
You know the size of the crowd that will be lining up at various Best Buys around the country soon in the wee hours of Black Friday? About half the size of one of those. In all seriousness, I'm thinking it was around 1,100/1,200-ish last year...but I'm sure someone has the exact number. If I'm off i...

Re: APP STATE / UL-MONROE WX TRENDS - Early look
Just curious. Why don't we play in games at 12:30, especially the later in the season games? Once the sun goes behind the press box those temperatures can drop 20 degrees. I wonder if some of the second half exodus is due to the fact that folks just get too cold on the home side. Just an observation.

Re: Bowl Eligible?
I guess that ultimately the real upside for the so-so young teams that earn a bid (even to a lower tier bowl) is that they gain extra practice time and can use it to work in the younger kids who will move up the depth chart in the following season. The downside for a school not rolling in the dough ...

Re: Bowl Eligible?
I think that is a sign that there are some really bad teams (overall, not just in the SBC) and that there are just TOO many bowls. Personally I have a hard time with the term "reward" for a team that goes 6-6. The entire system would be better if they eliminated about 5-10 bowls and limted qualifyin...

Re: Bowl Eligible?
Despite what happens it would still be really cool to get three more wins and have the asterick beside our name. The glass half full crowd- me included looks at the standings and sees 4 SB teams with an "X" beside their name. Better to still at least be in the discussion.

Bowl Eligible?
Was looking at the conference standings on ESPN and noticed the * beside GSU's name. Read something the other day that said something to the effect that due to the number of potentially ineligible teams (for Bowls) the NCAA was allowing GSU and App to play in a bowl if eligible? That being said does...

Re: Marcus Cox.... chance to break Kevin Richardson's record
Kevin really had a remarkable career, especially considering he was a walk-on. His stats were padded with the extra playoff games and what will end up being a much weaker overall level of competition. I think Cox has a chance to be really special and if he breaks KR's records it will really be somet...

Re: SBC Stats
I think it is completely misleading to get hung up on stats. We are obviously digging out of a hole now and our stats should only get better. A look at the overall yards per game for App and our remaining opponents are interesting. We are in a dead tie with Arkansas St in offense and defense (yards ...

Re: Penn State 2018
How do the "money games" work now that we have moved up? Do we get the same type of paydays that we got as FCS or is it more? Also, when we schedule a game like PSU 4 years out do the schools reach a money agreement now or later? How much do we pay someone like UMASS to play at the Rock?

Pretty good one. Now we have one big boy per year for the next 4. Guess we will add a mid tier opponent for 2018 and we will be set through 2018.

Re: App State / GA State WX Trends - SNOWMAGEDDON BOWL
Sounds like a recipe for some ground and pound. Sustained drives with another 400+ yard rushing from the Apps. I hope that Cox is walking around campus with a ball in his arms today.

Re: 10/26 SunBelt Standings/games left
Would it make some people feel better if we had gotten blown out in a few of the losses then come on strong to beat weaker teams and finish with a 5-7 record? Sometimes you just have to find something to hang your hat on. Chalk up the Liberty loss to just a bad night and let it go. The problem many ...

Re: IT'S WAKE FOREST.... 2017
I will give you that. Crappy is probably not a great adjective to use. I guess it all comes down to interpretation. I always said that if I were a UNC or NCSU fan, if my team wasn't in the NC mix I would want them to play in Atlanta, Florida or Charlotte so that I could make a an easy trip to see th...

Re: IT'S WAKE FOREST.... 2017
Some of us older guys (not ancient but older) can really appreciate success and embrace the movement to big boy football. The uptick in competition for all sports is great but let's be honest, football is driving this bus. I was at App in the early to mid 80's. If memory serves our first year coach ...

Re: Vegas line for Ga State
Is there a stranger horrible team in the country this year? Blown out or within a field goal? You can't take them lightly or you take a really bad loss to a really bad team. If you play your "A" game you blow them out. App by 10.
