Re: App St makes Top 50 Tailgates
I really don't care much about random opinion based stuff that some person spews. I didn't read anything on this but what exactly is the criteria? Schools with 80,000 seats will obviously have more humans parked around the stadium and more stuff going on. I've seen aspects of our tailgate experience...

Re: 2023 Baseball Mega Thread
A little more fuel for the guys headed into the tournament. That and we were picked 10th at SBC media days. Post it in the dugout! How did the final standings compare to the preseason predictions? I have to believe that Coastal, Southern Miss and La were picked high if not the top 3. As tight as it...

Re: Another haunt bites the dust
I readily admit that my favorite spot for years was Woodlands. Went there a good bit back in the 80's before it burned down. Had a long gap of years until I got back there to the rebuild. Not quite the same but still good. Kind of hated seeing an Outback right next door. Times change and at the end ...

Re: September 1, 2007
My expectations every year is that we go undefeated and win the championship (Belt and however far we can go). I'm realistic as well and know that is really difficult. I see no reason why we can't bounce back and have a great season. As a suffering Panthers fan I've grown accustomed to disappointme...

Re: End of a good run, My Last Newspaper
In Fayetteville we had the Observer in the morning and the Times at night. We got both when I was young. As a Reds fan I waited for the evening paper to arrive so that I could find out if they won a game played the night before on the west coast. Seems crazy now to get a morning paper and half of th...

Re: 2023 Baseball Mega Thread
Does any team have at least 2 potentially lights out pitchers who could shut down a team in the top 6 for back to back games? You might see a whole bunch of games pitched by bull pens. We will need Hamilton to be on point. A few years back my two boys played high school ball and their team advanced ...

Didn't he try to come back and play at around age 50?

Re: 2023 Baseball Mega Thread
I know it's not the same but we did a bunch of travel ball and it was always a challenge in those early morning games. I always thought whichever team can wake up the best would have an edge.

Re: 2023 Baseball Mega Thread
According to the announcer we advance to the double elimination round and play Troy first most likely. I believe in that scenario I pitch Hamilton first. If we win today

Re: 2023 Baseball Mega Thread
If (big if) we manage a bye I'd seriously consider throwing our number 2 and save Hamilton. I know you gotta win but he can't pitch every day. Unless somehow he could throw another game if we go all the way in the tournament. Again all a huge IF. If we don't get the bye all bets are off

Re: 2023 Baseball Mega Thread
Looks like Ga State plays early and if I read it all correctly we will know our position pretty much when we are about to start. If they win they knock us from any possible way to get 6th place. ODU and GSU are tied 6-6 in the 7th. ODU up by 1 bottom 8. I'm sure our coaches will be made aware of an...

Re: 2023 Baseball Mega Thread
The overall most painful thing is that our beloved App State sports has become .500. We are simply average and that is a tough pill to swallow.

Re: 2023 Baseball Mega Thread
This team has done well all things considered but there is no way they last long in the post season with a pitching ERA close to 8. You simply can't just serve up fast balls down the middle of the plate.

Re: 2023 Baseball Mega Thread
Belt standings are still crazy for teams like 4-10. A lot will happen by tomorrow. They already show Ga State winning today. Assuming that's a typo. I'm assuming that if we take the last 2 we overtake Troy even with one less conference game played? Might all be a mute point considering what Southern...

Re: 2023 Baseball Mega Thread
It's hard to imagine any college baseball player getting what would be considered "huge" NIL money. I've read that a great majority of college baseball teams lose money. Even using a simple calculation of 13 scholarships at $30k per year that's about $400k then add in coaching salaries and travel c...
