Re: Boone Restaurants Closing
When I was a student there was a gas station on BR Rd that sold 3 hot dogs for 99 cents. Wouldn’t pass sanitation codes now but back in the early 80s it was a great deal for a poor college student. No telling what the hell was in those dogs and I really don’t want to know. The smell was so bad, I c...

Re: 2025 Men's Golf Mega thread
Plausible. If someone or group is bankrolling the team I could see that as the determining factor. I may have shared the story of when we were offered ownership of a golf course at no cost, if we would maintain and operate it . The Chancellor at that time , passed on the deal although the analysis ...

Re: 12 team playoff
It starts this weekend and I’m pulling hard for Dabo and Clemson. Until some reasonable rules are in place I think Dabo’s stance on the portal has been the best way to manage the current madness. If more coaches would follow his lead the situation would be much better. The university’s really have ...

Re: Liberty Tickets
When do refunds get issued btw? Anyone gotten theirs? I had to call about a refund on the single game tickets I purchased for a friend. Since I had already transferred the tickets, it did not show up as a purchase in the transaction log. The ticket office had to find the transfer request to issue t...

Think maybe this is Apps new ploy - lose some games by playing like crap so Wake and State will put us back on the schedule?DenverOfTheEast wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2024 5:04 pmSeems my Wake take was spot on -- they pick up a lesser P5 game with Oregon State.... Quote from a Charlotte Observer article:
‘At the beginning, it was splendid. A sellout crowd of 15,614.’
15,614 sellout?

You've got the Buccaneer coming to town with his little bird, Peede the Parrott. I'm thinking stuff a half-drunk beer up a Cornish hen's a$$, season and slow cook for about 3 hours. Beer Can Chicken. Don't knock it until you've tried it. We are having 'Parrot' wings in a variety of sauces, buffalo,...

Nice thing about having the Appalachian Summer concert in the stadium - get in a practice tailgate before the season starts. Miss the Stadium lot.

Great Interview with Coach Moore by Scott Fowler
This is probably behind a pay wall from the Charlotte observer. It is an interview by Scott Fowler with Coach Moore, part of his Sports Legends of the Carolinas. Also in podcast form Mountain Man: Former App State Coach Jerry Moore Love this answer: SF: What did you look for when recruiting a potent...

Re: "App State" beers or ales????????????????????????????
There are at least two breweries in the Charlotte area owned by App alumni. Devine Barrel and Southern Strain. Could be others that I’m not aware. It’d be cool if the two collaborated for an App beer. Hoptown Brewery in Mooresville is owned by an APP Grad - this is where they host most of the away ...
