Re: App picked as 28 pt dog to Clemson
I don't think anyone on this board has "predicted" or "expects" us to beat Clemson. I have merely stated that it is very possible and I was taken aback by the point spread and the cavalier attitude towards the 2015 App team by so many Clemson analyst. No doubt, on paper Clemson is clearly the favor...

Re: App picked as 28 pt dog to Clemson
I will say the same thing for Clemson as I told the Michigan fans on the bus going to The Big House - "If we can move the ball on you guys and put up some points, it could be a good game" - Teams just don't shut down the offenses of these Top 10 teams, so we have to score points - a 14 up to 28 poi...

Re: App picked as 28 pt dog to Clemson
agree we probably aren't going to win this game, Clemson offense should be one the best in the country this year, and as good as our defense is, its going to be real tough to hold them under 35, but, that doesn't mean we cant scare the hell out of them, there defense is probably going to struggle e...

Re: App picked as 28 pt dog to Clemson
Another two-deep loss for Clemson. This time at Sam LB. http://www.tigernet.com/update/player/Clemson-LB-decides-give-football-20046 Not a huge loss. Their coaching staff seems to love Jalen Williams and Kendall Joseph. Both of them were very good high school players. I'm not trying to be a downer ...

Re: Tacoi Sumler - NFL draft
I just hope he doesn't end up like Jamal Jackson. Jackson still spends most of his time training for the pros. Someone close to him needs to break it to him: dude, it's time to hang up the cleats and get a real job. Part of his problme is that his agent was paying Jeff Blake to train him. Blake was...

Re: Preseason #54
According to some ESPN calculation, we're #54 heading into the 2015 season. http://espn.go.com/blog/statsinfo/post/_/id/102380/102380 That's a bit high. I would have thought we would be 70-80 coming in to the season. The talk from others about us going to a "BCS" type Bowl like a Fiesta or Sugar or...

Re: Tacoi Sumler - NFL draft
Guys, I'm sorry but this thread is a laugher. He was buried on APPs depth chart for whatever the reasons and suddenly he'll get looks in the NFL??? C'mon He'd best get a day job like the rest of us. I'm with you. Hate to say it but he can't stay healthy at App nor could beat out the "slower" guys w...

Re: Fire him
Period My friend, you disappoint me again on a public forum. Please think 24 hours before you post our displeasure, about the games we are watching. Really, PLEASE " Give a Mountaineer a chance" It should be give everyone a chance. I want Scott and anyone else to have an equal fair shake. I don't w...

"Scott, if you truly love App (which I believe you do) then you need to resign. You aren't ready for this job. I wish you well but it's time to go. This is not acceptable at Appalachian State." Just curious, were you saying the same thing late in 2004? I was upset with Jerry Moore for other things ...

Re: Fire him
I love how I get attacked by a couple of Scott's cheerleaders on this board for hinting that he needs to win a certain amount of games to retain his job and that I am on the bubble as to supporting Scott. After this game tonight I'm officially gone from skeptical and not sure he is the guy to ready ...

Re: First Half
I am sick of hearing Satterfield using the young excuse . It is getting "old" in a hurry. I'm sure it plays some part in our struggles, but young teams can win. It's not like we started our program last year , we have older players, but we choose to put the younger ones on the field. Maybe because ...

Re: I Know , I Know But We Really Are Young
Satt will rebuild it the right way. Go Apps! I do think Satt would build it with HS players but I don't think he will be here to finish. We are going to be better next year but if we don't win another game, a new coach will take control of the young talent. We are still young but a lot of our top p...

Re: Empty
we should spend the expansion money on new coaching staff training Or just get a new coaching staff. If things keep up, this staff will be gone after the season. There is no improvement. I thought we would improve slightly and lose close with 3 or 4 wins this year but I don't see that happening now...

Are you surprised? As it gets colder and the losses build up, our attendance will quickly drop to about 18-21k. If it gets cold enough we may we less than 18k for a game in late November.

Re: Vegas line for USA
This is gonna be a close one. Whichever team makes the fewest mistakes (penalties, turnovers) will win. Can we be more effective in the red zone? Will the special teams kill us? I like our chances to cover but not sure about an outright win. If it is going to be the team with the fewest mistakes th...

Re: [New Article]Official Panthera Onca prediction thread
Not sure we are there yet. Still too many mistakes with penalties and turnovers. For our running game to improve the QB is going to have to be a threat (otherwise it won't matter who the back is). I hope to see some double back and double tight end sets. Hoping that the home field fires us up. Hope...

Re: Q&A with Coach Moore
He is definitely not giving full disclosure. I know there was a rift with him and Cobb. Cobb and Peacock wanted FBS, Moore did not. I think they got along up until then. Jerry thought he was going to stop the process or that his opinion would carry the weight. Instead of going along with his boss he...

Re: Sunday Morning QB on a Friday ---
Poor tackling and penalties are things we should be able to clean up now. What worries me is that it seemed we were whipped on the line of scrimmage, on both sides of the ball. Rushing numbers were pathetic, but we must commit to running the ball more and restore some sense of balance to the offens...
