Re: FB at No. 24 JMU, 3:30 p.m., ESPN+
We are all on a train where we have been riding for some time. On the last stop we changed Train Engineers/drivers at last stop because the previous one was not operatin it well. Now the train is not going as we all want/too slow/too much crap going on in cars/etc. However, we are in a position that...

Re: FB at No. 24 JMU, 3:30 p.m., ESPN+
This can go one of two ways and I'm afraid we're heading down the bumpier road at this point, but continue to hold out hope. For comparison on recent rival team coaching transitions: Coastal Carolina 2022: 9-4 [last season with HC Jamey Chadwell] 2023: 8-5 [first season with HC Tim Beck] 2024: 6-7 ...

DLo started in Dec. He inherited a losing team on a downward trajectory We did not have good OLine and Dline for several years and they were getting worse every year DLo had to accept whatever HS recruits that were coming in and recruited from the same staff that got fired or not have any players at...

Re: ODU Discussion
Come on folks, anybody with any sense of how programs operate knew what he meant. Outside locker room. And right now we have and coach has bigger fish to fry. He is working on rebuilding a program that was much deeper in the ditch than most folks realized so it is going to take some time and cycles ...

Re: #136 in dropped passes????
Probably right. I have seen him make some amazing catches and then miss some easy ones. Consistency is the key.
Does anyone have a "per player" statistic on drops? Most important probably is targets vs drops, etc.

Re: Mid-season halfway point grade?
Fact is we are in a place that we have not been in many times over the last 30-40 yrs. We have had some up and down cycles but not the low we are in now. JM had his ups and downs throughout his career here with the highest of highs in the 3 yr NC run in '05-'07 but we started declining in the last y...

Re: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly- Coastal
Agree we still should win regardless of refs BUT another one to add. On the CC drive to put them ahead we were called for DPI and replay clearly showed our guy didn't even touch receiver, both fell to ground. Avery even chimed in on that one during the replay. That was a critical call and on 3rd dow...

Re: Coastal - 3:30pm - Discussion
This is what I don't understand about many of the comments right now. This is an entirely new coaching staff with a huge number of transfer players. A transition like this takes time to gel and build. Compared to this time last year, App looks better. There are numerous areas that need improvement,...

Re: Billy Napier Fired
What all of the above prove is how high the stakes get the higher you go in College Football. We have seen good FCS or G5 coaches melt in the P2 arena. Most coaches, period, don't excel. They are lucky if they can sustain. When in SEC or B1G you better perform or you are gone, short leases as well.

Re: Mid-season halfway point grade?
We put up 37 pts. That should be enough to win but the D couldn’t stop anything. Clearly we are lacking enough skilled players as a result of many years of declining recruiting. It is quite obvious that we are going to need at least another year of two recruiting cycles to get enough talent to be ba...

Why did we run two kickoffs out of end zone in 4th qtr
Net negative yards mean harder to score

...VT & Penn St are going to throw all the money in the world at him Did not age well Just because IU preemptively threw money at him does not mean the other schools would not have thrown money at him. Everybody knew IU wasn’t going to let him leave over a few million a year. Why walk away from $12...

Re: East Tower
The existing lower-level structures on the East/West sides need some serious updating before adding anything new. The concrete pads that comprise our lower level seating are in terrible condition, especially on the East side (read: Beirut in 1985). Not only is it embarrassing, but it’s quickly beco...

Re: Prove Me Wrong - App Football Season - Positive Vibes
IMO, our team this year can’t be compared to most based on the outcome of the first 6 games as if they are all the same. Most of us realized before the season that this will be a work in progress as opposed to a team that is starting the season “near” their peak. I knew , hoped, as the season progre...

Why go to Penn State? They will never be satisfied with his results. Indiana is taking care of him with lots of money. Everything you do at IU makes him god. They will appreciate him there regardless for the rest of his career. No brainer if I were him.

Re: Drama at UNC with Bill- shocker
I think most folks outside of Chapel Hill thought it was a bad idea before they hired him. Old coach that has plenty of money already, paid a fat salary, nothing really to prove at this point in his life, toting around some young chic. He ain’t hungry to prove anything. He can just take the money an...
