Re: FB at No. 24 JMU, 3:30 p.m., ESPN+
Problem is, if you Fire him after 1 year, you lose a chunk of money and what head coach in his right mind will break down the door to coach at a university that gives that short of a leash as to fire someone after 1 year? A ton of them, especially a FCS coach who wants a chance at the bigger stage....

Re: Coastal - 3:30pm - Discussion
Maybe I’m crazy, but I think Loggains has bigger fish to fry than to be worried about what songs the marching band plays. Also, can everyone stop crying about the offense? They scored over 30 pts and turnovers weren’t an issue. That should’ve been enough to get the job done. The other side of the b...

Re: Coastal - 3:30pm - Discussion
I love the idea of keeping traditions, but in all seriousness, what real unique traditions do we have besides pointing to an end zone while Bugler's dream is being played? App State chant, holding up 4 fingers as we enter the 4th quarter (not unique), "Its an Appstate first down"(not unique). Not b...

Cignetti brought back their mascot this year they had not had one for years before this. That is a coach who understands how important your roots are. https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/college/indiana/2025/10/11/indiana-mascot-hoosier-bison-mascot/86637663007/ That is a stroke of genius. https:...

Good: Billy looked like he knew what he was doing. Maybe he would have looked different if he had been in when Gillon came in. But I doubt it. Bad: turn overs turn overs turn overs. Ugly: penalties penalties penalties. The same penalties for three weeks in a row. Hoping these guys and coaches get th...

Re: Game day Operations
Although I was unable to attend I watched on TV and I have come to this conclusion. If we're making game day as student-friendly as possible and making the experience as much about the students as possible then do away with the canned music altogether, except when the Band of Distinction is in tran...

Re: App Transfer Portal 2025 - IN
Playoffs??!!! We’re talking about playoffs??!!! Until the transfer portal and NIL stuff gets worked out, a second level of playoffs shouldn’t happen. Marshall would have been an automatic qualifier but half their team left. The validity of that 2nd level playoff will be affected with players of tho...

Re: Traditions, rivalries, etc.
Georgia Southern and Appalachian game should be called the “Black and Blue Bowl” With something like an old teachers hand bell as a trophy. Maybe it is good that there is not a good name for this game. "Black and Blue Bowl" sounds like, "The Bruise Bowl." I just would like for it to be as cold and ...

Re: Traditions, rivalries, etc.
No, because the fans are truly what determine those types of things. There are some cases where what happens on the field/court can spark it like us vs. Louisiana in football for a few years. But most App/UL fans never looked at each other as "rivals." Not the fans. History, teams and fans. It’s ve...

Re: Miami Hurricanes MBB Coach, Jim Larranaga stepping down
The average “fan” who has never set foot on campus but drives the television numbers and those of us alums who have invested in the athletes education during good times and bad are two distinctly different groups. I don’t see the tv numbers changing much but I do believe it’s going to become more d...

Re: UNC Fires Mack Brown
UNC has ALWAYS had an attendance problem. They play in the Aluminum Jungle. Was a factor in Mack leaving the first time. He had them a top 10 team, playing another top 10 team at home and couldn’t sell it out. I recall reading the N&O back then him complaining about it. I hate the troths there. Pee...

Sad? He isn't dead folks.... he can still go coach somewhere. He had 5 years here to do his job. He makes about 15 times more a year than I make and I get shot at. He's made millions, got a half a mill buyout, got to coach here, and can retire if he wanted to. College football is a business these d...
