We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Re: NIL and future of NCAACF
The biggest P4 will still have different college sports. The SEC especially has been pouring money (earned from football primarily) into all kinds of Olympic sports for years. Look at the swimming, gymnastics, track and field, etc championships and there are tons of SEC schools involved. Also look ...

Re: 2024/25 post mortem
Should non-Sunbelt teams carry the same weight? I would say high profile sports carry more weight, but amongst lower profile sports, conference affiliation shouldn't factor Also, the Sun Belt needs to sponsor field hockey (3 teams) with the 2 CUSA members thrown in (and Longwood too I guess for 6).

Re: NIL and future of NCAACF
Well, just my opinion but although I completely agree that NIL needs to be reformed and have some governance applied, a presidential executive order is absolutely NOT the way to do it. Feel free to disagree. I agree in principle it certainly is not ideal, but since EOs are theoretically about instr...

Re: NIL and future of NCAACF
So, this is related to the NIL mess. I have always enjoyed watching college softball, but haven’t watched too much lately. I decided this weekend to watch a few games including App and some nationally ranked teams. There wasn’t a single mention of NIL, the portal, transfers, etc. They did talk abou...

Re: NIL and future of NCAACF
We, the fans, do have some control over this mess. G5 fans, sorry but we don't. The masses will continue to watch the same 40 schools on TV, while large donors brag about the funding they provide to their peers and coattail riders. The biggest winners are the second tier "power" schools in football...

Re: NIL and future of NCAACF
I am not really sure what the big deal is. Your school is your school. Things may change, but it is still your school. The changes are for everyone not just Appalachian. So, if everyone has to play by the same rules the system is fair. I would say that the system is fairer now than it has ever been...

Re: Question: App State sports as or vs ranked teams
I believe we were top 25 in baseball in 2012. Numerous rankings had us in the top 30 most of that year. That's probably the most impressive as there are something like 300 D1 baseball teams. Baseball has a ton of ranked wins. Virginia, OU, LSU x2, Wake a few times, NCState...all the Sun Belt ranked...

Re: Question: App State sports as or vs ranked teams
Go back and check men's soccer from 1970-1980 and you'll find those Vaughn Christian coached teams consistently in the top 10 nationally. The matches vs Clemson at the time were epic. When I was in school, I remember hearing how great the soccer team used to be. That's perhaps the saddest part of d...

Question: App State sports as or vs ranked teams
After seeing the post about womens tennis getting a win versus a ranked opponent (congrats to the ladies), I got to thinking about all App teams histories with national rankings at the top level (FBS for football, and post 1971 D1 for everyone else) and thought it would be more interesting here than...

Re: Explain: PlayFly Sports
Our radio play by play guys are excellent. That would be Matt Present. He, like Adam, is very good. Matt and Adam are so good I find myself nearly always choosing the radio stream over TV streaming, though that may be because I can listen to the radio while doing other things instead of being stuck...

Those of us who get these movie references are the same ones who value Marshall as an arch rival.

Re: ACC
Marshall is a rival for those of us who now need a colonoscopy. JMU is a rival for me, as I live in enemy territory. All that said, I found that I was more upset over losing to the stink than I was losing to the turds last week. So I guess sometimes I’m more moved by the sizzle than the steak. I st...

Re: Another domino has fallen NIL
If it came to pass that the top 30 or so football and basketball programs split off into some sort of pro set up, while everyone else (and even other sports at the big boys) operated on a D2 model, I think I would be fine with that eventually.

Re: A sobering reality we are going to have to face
My BIL works in athletics at PSU. He said they are going to be straight up employees (1-2-3 year contracts, medical benefits, etc). Obviously lots of things to be ironed out but the way the model is trending Title 9 will be no more. Universities will decide what sports they want to field as NCAA or...

I don’t know man. Those Tijuana Churros hit different. :D To be clear I have nothing specific against SD. It is more the state that it is in. California is a big and beautiful state that has diverse opinions. Don’t let yourself get fooled by the us vs them mentality. It is still a wonderful state. ...

Just lost any and all respect for you, pulled is the only way to eat pork BBQ. When did pulled pork even become a thing? I've eaten a lot of BBQ and I don't remember hearing pulled pork until 15-20 years ago. When I was growing up it was chopped, minced, or sliced. Either way, it's better when a cl...
