Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread

The reports of the demise of SBC baseball was greatly exaggerated. Good luck Troy. Hopefully, you win a few games along the way. Not sure about an "arms race" to ballpark expansion. Many of the stadiums below power schools and many power schools do not sell out until the regionals and super regiona...

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread

Anyone else feel like there will be an arms race for college baseball stadium expansions? The sport is picking up major attention. Not one of these parks has the capacity/infrastructure to keep up with the attendances they are getting. I do like the standing room party areas at these venues though. ...

Will be interesting if Skylar Meade gets thrown into the mix for the South Carolina job.
He’s done a fantastic job.

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread

Last year we had $499k of scholarships. Now we have $700k. Sizable jump, came from somewhere. Goal is $1.1M Might be time to think about where our donations are going. Is it worth feeding a 6-6 football program with zero chances of making a playoff? I dk. That increase likely came from a decrease t...

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread

Troy’s going to Omaha.
Wow.
Invest in baseball now or it’ll be too late soon. It’s not just Coastal and USM anymore.
Good for the conference and us!

Some crowd in Troy.
Big money maker. 6800 for baseball is a lot of people! Concessions, merch, ticket prices, parking…etc.

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread

That’s the word on the street. Big dollars. I'm hearing $2.1M to go to SC. Liberty's coach to CCU. I get the money but is SC really a better job? He would likely make the tournament more often at Coastal than SC. Maybe... South Carolina has a pretty good baseball history...just not as consistently ...

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread

A team 95% of America has never heard of with colder weather that us? Go U of Milwaukee! Take the APP team and put them in the Horizon League and they probably would still be playing also - This was sarcasm for the crowd that uses the excuse that we can’t win because it’s cold. (I know they got hot...

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread

I love it when people start spending other people's money...If you believe its the right thing to do, send your checks to: Yosef Club ASU Box 32102 Boone, NC 28608 FTR: our current overall baseball funding is at the 40th percentile within the SBC, and higher than the numbers you're speculating. Hav...

Are those guys more likely to give one time gifts versus annual investments? Outside of Springs, I can’t think of anyone making needle moving money. No clue ands that's a great question. Hopefully they've made a call to him. Unfortunately, we know the facilities battle. That is a big chunk of money...

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread

With the money coming from ? Alumni. Maybe take a dollar or two from Football. A couple of us are trying to set up a call with Kermit to see where we can assist/gauge needs. The program has had a few guys that made some decent money over the past 10-15 years playing professionally. Could be a start...

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread

Who in the conference has NIL at a significant level? Probably just USM and Coastal. But I'm sure other teams will start picking up the slack. As most of these football schools have now realized they have no shot at competing for national relevance...just like us. We're all in the same boat now. We...

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread

Selection committee chair heavily emphasized strength of schedule in saying why a team like Mercer didn't get in. He credited teams like Santa Barbara for going out and playing tough series (they went to Southern Miss). Troy was barely above .500 overall, but their schedule was brutally tough. The ...
