We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Re: Private Equity in College Athletics

I'm so done with this dumpster fire. I hope the PE vultures completely destroy what is left of this mess so that maybe it can be rebuilt from the ground up.

Let me sum up where we are. G5 programs would be fine if we went back to the paper bags of cash that magically show up in lockers of power programs system than what we have today.
Unquestionably true.

Re: Boone Restaurants Closing

I still miss the Double Bacon Cheeseburgers from the BI (Bavarian Inn) as well as the East and West Wing of Welborne Cafeteria. I miss the Sweet Shop and Gold Room as well. Was the BI below the cafeteria? I can't remember where it was, but I do remember the rubber pizza. I usually ate a hamburger o...

It is inevitable, write it down and revisit this within two years.

I have as much clarity about this as I had with the NIL slippery slope, FBS transition, and not allowing kids to attend schools during COVID.
I would add the no cups and ice decision to that list.

Re: Boone Restaurants Closing

I knew the Famous Toastery wouldn't work downtown, too many "breakfast" joints in town and not having dinner service doesn't help. Sad to see the Red Onion go, it was one of the few legacy restaurants remaining.

One thing NIL/portal will do is keep school records intact. With the players transferring left and right most holding school records now, probably won't see them beat.
Good point, I had not considered the impact on school or conference records.

Re: NIL and future of NCAACF

It's a minor league now. College football is dead. We should refer to it as dead and a governing league needs to run CFB moving forward as kids are doing whatever they want with little governance at this point. I am no longer interested in App Football like I used to, I'll still watch and rep my ge...

Re: NIL and future of NCAACF

I am not really sure what the big deal is. Your school is your school. Things may change, but it is still your school. The changes are for everyone not just Appalachian. So, if everyone has to play by the same rules the system is fair. I would say that the system is fairer now than it has ever been...

Yep, as soon as they start sharing revenue they would in their become employees. This means they can't be discriminated against due to age or anything of the sort. The only thing they could do would require them to be registered for classes. So yes, you could ha e any age at thay point. I doubt tha...

Re: NIL and future of NCAACF

I still like the plan from the old days with a tweak. Once upon a time, scholarship players were given a small stipend to pay for laundry costs, a meal out, long distance phone calls home, etc. I think that stopped somewhere in the 70's. I'd like to see that tweaked to a small base salary that all ...

I have a hard time believing that a major company REALLY needs some random college athlete to help them sell their products especially if that athlete has to say who they are.
That's the ruse.
